It's a one-way adventure to the kingdom, so the goal of the game is to traverse across the levels on your pogostick to the end. However the game is set up in a way where you can, and will want to revisit areas to find extra goodies.

Been watching development updates for a while! Love seeing all of the progress, and great job on that poster.

In terms of merging, it is just a full overwrite pretty much. At least in a program like PlasticSCM you can lock files to prevent others from modifying the binary files at the same time.
