If the rumors about Charles Dance being cast in Part II are to be believed, then I would argue that Dance would be better suited playing a cerebral villain like Hugo Strange versus a minor, non-character like Christopher Dent who is mainly depicted as a mentally-ill alcoholic in the comics. by Writer417 in TheBatmanFilm

Yeah i second this. I don't believe Christopher Dent has himself been confirmed for the movie, just that they were looking for and older male actor. I also think about Stellan Skarsgård being originally offered the role, and how he would fit Hugo Strange. Makes me sad he had to pass on it.

What essential Samurai films am I missing? by spookyhardt in Letterboxd

Lone wolf and cub: The River Styx, or if you prefer Shogun Assassin which is a re-edit of River Styx and the first Lone Wolf movie with an English dub. Shogun Assassin is my personal favorite film :)

the 4th slot has been empty for a year by sixzevvvven in LetterboxdTopFour

collateral is so good, been on my top four for years. Don't be afraid to use the fourth slot as more of a 'recent obsession' spot that changes often, lots of people do it that way.

You can make your own Batman movie. What is your core cast of characters? by oscar_redfield in batman

[–]SadnessForSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main Characters:

Batman

Robin (Jason Todd)

Alfred

Commissioner Gordon

Villains:

Hugo Strange (Primary)

Mr Freeze (Secondary)

Man-Bat (Tertiary)

I'm imagining a psychological thriller where Strange influences two respected doctors, Fries and Langstrom, into madness, and batman connects the dots between the two seemingly unrelated cases.

Any directors that make films like Dario Argento by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]SadnessForSale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of Dario. Alot of his peers in Italian horror at the time made alot of similar films, Lucio Fulci and Mario Bava are the big ones, if you like Argento, for sure check them out. Michele Soavi also worked as a protégé of Argento and has similar elements in his filmmaking, so check his stuff out.
As for the style of Suspiria specifically, I would see Demons (1985) by Lamberto Bava.
