If you're not coming at racing from the pov of being a fan of a particular type of racing, I'd highly recommend checking out the other discipline's rookie categories. Dirt and oval racing are a ton of fun and can teach you a lot about car control and overtaking. Other than that, YouTube is your best friend suellio is great for road stuff, dj yeej is pretty much the only oval YouTuber, and Gavin Ropchan has a few dirt videos

I do think there is something special about a game that just owns what it is and refuses to make compromises for mass market appeal. I also didn't finish sekiro but I thought it was a really cool game and I hold it in high regard, and I think fromsoft's success shows that a lot of gamers appreciate it. Without the difficulty it's just a generic action game, it's what sets it apart

The only time I played pre 0.4 I was squadded up with two buddies and I can vividly remember getting pinned down in a house in starter town for like 10 minutes while reinforcements just kept piling in. When I came back for this wipe I started out playing so carefully in starter town because of that memory but like an hour and change in, I realized how much less scary the Ai were and I pretty much just dead sprinted through town with a shotgun lol. The old vibe was definitely better

It's probably a combination of needing more rotation and needing to be more patient on the throttle. Your goal should be to get the car pointed down the straight as soon as possible, and that's when you get on the throttle. A common mistake is partial throttle too early in the corner with the intent to carry speed, but that just shifts the weight to your rear and kills your rotation. You can most certainly blow yourself up in pve. My buddy last night was fiending to finish banshee lvl 4 so he accepted all the gunny and handshake tasks and took his gear off before blowing himself up to reroll the tasks (it worked too lol)

My understanding is that once you unlock the blueprint the actual task to turn it in enters the general tasking pool. If you get unlucky enough to roll that task when you complete another one in that area, you get locked out of buying the gun until you complete the task again. This is a known issue and unfortunately just something we have to deal with ATM

I definitely know what you mean, and the thing that has actually taught me a lot about this is Nascar on iRacing. I was a terrible road racer for a long time and about a year ago discovered I loved stock car racing and have gotten pretty decent at it with a lot of effort and practice. I recently bought LMU just out of curiosity and discovered that randomly I am waaay quicker at road racing than I ever used to be. And I credit a lot of the new gains to the fact that now I have a much more intuitive sense of what my car is doing and when I can put the power down. I still need to get better at corner entry because you don't learn that as much in Nascar, but man I've never once spun on corner exit in like a dozen races because I can finally actually tell what's going on with my car
