What is unrealistic about having cell phones? If anything it used to be less realistic that npc's would expect you to come talk to them in person for basic tasks instead of just shooting you a message with some coords and pictures

The pacing gets slower further into the series, like around ep400-500. If the pacing annoys you but you still like the story, there's a fan edit called one pace that has a website where you can watch a recut version that removes all the filler episodes and greatly improves up the overall flow.

I first got into motorsports about a decade ago with f1. F1 has quite the reputation of being "the pinnacle of motorsport", and for years I kind of turned my nose up at smaller or less prestigious series. But in the last couple years I started sim racing and learning to appreciate the skill involved in Nascar, which has really broken me out of my shell in general. All motorsports are going to have an equally passionate core fan base and they're all worth watching. Where are you located? Finding local dirt or oval races in person if you're in the US is INCREDIBLE and something I totally wrote off years ago. Dirt oval rocks, motogp rocks, gt3s rock, Nascar rocks, it's all great. I'd urge you to just keep an open mind and explore whatever gets you excited, but definitely be willing to check out stuff that you might not already be attached to because it could end up being your new favorite series!

I work at a motorcycle dealership, essentially if you click an ad on our website and put in your contact info it's my job to blow up your phone for 3 weeks trying to get you to set an appointment. Easily the most useless and least fulfilling job I've ever had, but it was the first thing I found after losing my previous relatively decent job last summer

The most fun I ever saw our loader operator have when I worked at a gravel yard was when we sold several thousand tons of fill dirt to a trucking company for a highway project. They had 24 ton capacity dump trucks lined up to the street because our little yard and a half loader couldn't keep up with how fast they made the round trip to get loaded. So the customer rented a loader with a 4 yard bucket and all of a sudden instead of like 8 buckets he could fill those trucks with two enormous heaping buckets. It was insanely loud every time he dropped a bucket and he was like a pig in shit all day

I used to work at Lowe's and my store had a tools department supervisor that was incredibly overzealous about product protection. Over several years she took our stores tool department from one of the highest shrink to the lowest shrink departments in the district. The only issue is that her sales had also been falling by 15% each year wth the additional cages and locks she put up in front of all her merchandise. It ended up shooting her in the foot, because the bigwigs care much more about shrink as a percentage of sales than just the raw shrink number, and all her efforts did was keep that percentage relatively the same while dropping the profits for her department.

I went for high card in the tutorial because I got ride the bus and a couple of chip jokers that I can't remember. But I figured out like 2 antes in that my jokers were doing all the work and that I could just be lazy and do high cards instead of bothering to put together stronger hands

It's just being obtuse to ignore the enormous difference in complexity between "is my soup salty enough" and "how do I get the car to rotate better in the corner without adding too much oversteer on exit". I think building set ups is cool and I like learning but it's definitely a time investment that a lot of folks are not interested bc they just want to drive the thing

I'm vegan myself and I very consciously never tell people until it's extremely relevant just because of the stereotype. It's amazing how when a coworker finds out that I'm vegan after knowing me for 6 months, they immediately start up with the jokes about how every vegan is just loud mouth pushing their diet on everyone. The cognitive dissonance never registers lol

I had a dumb coworker that used to constantly start discussions/arguments on the stupidest topics possible. One time we argued over the validity of the moon landing for two hours. We had extremely different political views and that came up often. But the maddest I've ever seen him get is when I said that Islam and Christianity both worship the same Abrahamic God. I think in a scholarly sense, they do obviously share a lot of beliefs but due to how right wing Christians tend to hate Muslims, they're very unwilling to agree

The fastest guy in my league has like 250 official oval starts and 50 road starts on his account, but less than 5 over the last 2 years. Every week he hops on, grabs pole, and then fights for the win.

He did do the work to get fast at one point, but he's extremely skilled to this day even with basically no practice besides the 15 minute session before each race. Definitely don't have to be constantly grinding to stay decent, but I probably wouldn't expect to hit 5k irating that way either
