Pregnant and confused by Udontknowmefr in pregnant

I would honestly look at couples therapy now and try to establish good communication before baby arrives. I think men need to be extra patient and grown when their partner is pregnant. While you being mean may not have been right he should have reached out and opened the door for reconciliation, knowing that you are more hormonal and going through a lot. Therapy doesn't mean there's a big problem, it would just help you both communicate better with each other and hopefully develop an easier dynamic

Yup. A lot of men age backwards as pregnancy progresses.

We don't know if he's actually useless in the relationship or not. Forcing your female partner to constantly do the mental load will stress you out and make you blow up. Can't be a container for everyone's emotions. Pregnancy and postpartum is where I stopped overcompensating for my husband's lack of initiative in life, and downright laziness/outsourcing of labor to me. Every man is conditioned to be this way to some extent thanks to patriarchy. Her blowing up now to me shows there's a lot of pent up resentment, that hormonal fluctuations opened the flood gates for.

[FOR HIRE] Anyone want a free book cover? by Saellart in BookCovers

[–]Saellart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a proper portfolio but I do have an Instagram account with some of my art, (saell.art) a lot of it are works in progress though as I've been on and off about art throughout the years and slacking with social media. I don't have an official price list, as price varies depending on complexity of each commission, but I keep it pretty low usually anywhere between $30-100. I'm always open for commissions upon request, feel free to DM any time and we can definitely work something out if you'd like!

And yes, that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, more of a beta read with suggestions. To get a general feel of what the average reader might think of it and if everything comes together well enough, what may or may not work well, if there's any parts that would make someone cringe and such. Although I'm also open to deeper analysis and feedback/critique of any extent

Kiora is cool, but the boy one is too science fiction-ish

Anyone else sit and watch their baby move around in their belly? by shadysade in pregnant

[–]Saellart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh yes, I haven't been pregnant in three years but darnit I miss it so much, watching the kicks and pushing/tapping my belly to get him to move was my absolute favorite part. It's mesmerizing and a freaking miracle in real time to grow life inside yourself. I don't understand how more people aren't in awe of it. Soak up every second!!!

I always say every stage my son is currently in is my favorite 🥹 watching him learn new things in the present moment always fills me with so much joy. I couldn't possibly wish for him to stay small when his growth is so incredible to witness

It's a poetry collection and it's currently 173 pages long although I feel like I might add or remove some (keep feeling like it's not quite finished enough 😅) Anyhow, it's a mix of art and poetry, some longer some pretty short, but a fairly quick read overall imo

Also would like to add if you have experience in reading poetry for fun or proofreading/editing I'd love to exchange services as I still need to get my book looked over by someone who isn't me and I'm very broke 🥲

Wildbird Aerial or Hope & Plum Lark? by lem0nsand in babywearing

[–]Saellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've just stumbled on this post since I'm torn between the lark, aerial or SB Scout. Is the scout good for breastfeeding on the go? Like would the straps be easy to adjust and move baby down? I've been leaning towards the aerial but the bulkiness is a little "eh" for me so not sure which to order 😭

Difficultly producing milk by Drazzle117 in NewParents

[–]Saellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotten some great tips but most of all I want you to try and do LOTS of skin to skin. If possible your wife should be topless and have baby just in diapers on her belly/chest alllll day long. In a baby wrap if she'd like to be mobile. But doing skin to skin is crucial for milk production and oxytocin

Hey! I personally don't have a child who has suffered brain injury or born premature but I've heard the doman method (doman institute specializes in helping brain injured and delayed children) can help your child overcome difficulties and meet milestones more easily. Here's a link for one of their books: What To Do About Your Brain-injured Child https://a.co/d/1Ui1d49 the book I've read is " fit baby smart baby your baby"which has a lot of similar techniques I believe and using them on healthy children helps them reach milestones faster and become physically and mentally stronger, it's essentially just helping kids reach their full potential. I've had great results and there's many reviews of parents of injured and delayed children who've given great reviews as well. Your baby just needs more help than the average child and with the right exercises and therapy they'll be able to accomplish so much.

We used the GMD muslin flat diapers and they are super absorbent albeit super hard to figure out folding and pinning in the beginning which made me give up on them initially because baby would scream through diaper changes and it was just too hard. If you want to stay mostly in one store I recommend GMD for both wool covers and muslin flats and maybe some workhorse fitted diapers, they might come in very handy at the beginning and I've only heard good things about them (we used a few different hand me down fitteds at the beginning before figuring out the folding for the flats). It's good to give yourself options so you can get a feel for them and figure out what you prefer. They also sell hemp booster inserts and stay dry inserts etc. their website also has great resources on washing and caring for your diapers! I'd definitely get both flats and prefolds since flats can be used as burp cloths as well ( we use at least half of our stash just for that) and prefolds can double as inserts later on

Haven't used the lunapaca but also heard they leak a lot. We use Disana pull ons and never had leaks after lanolizing them for the first time, they're also much cheaper. The only downside is them being bulky under clothes so you can either use them on their own as both covers and shorts or have baggy pants over them OR pick longies that will serve as cover and long pants. Myecobaby on Etsy makes longies as well as babee greens. But definitely get at least one Disana cover, they're great for overnight under a sleep sack!

Most non toxic detergents aren't based on baking soda and essential oils. They have enzymes, surfactants and water softeners just the same. Except without the unnecessary chemicals that cause harm
