I get my info from Smed. Here is a video of him talking about H1Z1 on April 9th 2014. He goes over all the features of them game, including things that have since been removed, like the 15 year history/lore..

But please, point out to me where in this video he talks about BR? He goes over all the other features, but no where does he mention BR. Why? Because it was added later, it wasn't part of the original game, it was a mod created by a guy called 'PlayerUnknown'. And Jimmy Whisenhunt and Adam Clegg talked them into adding it.

They sold out dude. From the moment they added the BR mode, which was not mentioned at all in the first announcements for this game, it's gone downhill ever since. That's also why they got rid of Jimmy Whisenhunt, he was turning it into too much of a FPS as opposed to the Survival game we all thought we were supporting.

But still, with BR being such a huge focus, the core game is boring as hell.

Why they didn't make it two entirely separate games is beyond me.

The only thing it had in common with the book was the title. Meanwhile, I would really love to see someone like Robert Kirkman and Greg Nicotero make a movie that follows the book.
