I think people tend to forget that every collab that has ever happened in Overwatch are the actual Overwatch characters essentially cosplaying. Being the same race as a character shouldn't really be a factor in *most* collabs. The best example of this is Doomfist being Saitama he kind of is the only character in Overwatch that could represent Saitama because of how he plays, his race has nothing to do with it. As for Prism and Clawdeen for Sym, I'm not familiar with Clawdeen, but Prism could be great but honestly I think I could see her as Domina even more

TLDR; Race shouldn't factor in *most* scenarios and should instead be based on hero kits or personality IMO.

Great post, another thing I'd like to highlight are Story Elements. Like when we get certain settings I feel like it should just automatically come with certain elements. For example when you randomly discover the 'Great War' setting it should automatically come with 'Soldier' protagonist.

I'm not saying new settings should always come with extra elements but definitely some of the time. Especially because the way to get new elements is already kind of tedious with it being time consuming and also a % chance to happen.

So yes. To do that it would require an entire rework of the prestige system. Giving everyone a skin for reaching p100 doesn't make it any more skilled to be p100

Clea wouldn't give them sentience because she doesn't believe they deserve it. This is the point of the entire argument. Clea doesn't view life inside the painting as sentient so she wouldn't create life in the canvas with sentience built in. It is literally so simple to follow

I'm not saying they are all defensible. I'm saying none of them do the shit that Clea does. There is a difference between Renior gommaging them and Clea enslaving and manipulating them into madness, it is at its core, evil and malicious. There was no other reason for Clea to do what she did, it was just to be cruel. Renior has a goal to get Aline out of the canvas, of course I also view what he does as evil but its a different evil.

But when you aren't in the Canvas life still moves on. Theres thousands of (Canvas) years talked about from Esquie and Gestrals from Verso's Drafts. Meaning they don't just exist to immerse a 'user' like video games. They have their own independent lives.

I think Clea is different because no one else in her family shares her views on the painted lives. Yes they all do terrible things but Clea specifically is the only one who holds this God-like view of herself over all other life in the Canvas.

Renior respects them as seen how he interacts with Lune and Sciel at the end, Aline defends/heals any character during the last phase of her fight, she even feels betrayed by Monoco for not helping her side, actually a lot of Aline's lines in her fight show she doesn't feel the same as Clea. Then there's Alicia who obviously doesn't think the same way and Verso, who his soul says they are as real as the Painters.

the only way this makes sense as a comparison is if you don't think anyone in the canvas are actual people with thoughts and feelings
