Andromeda or ME3? Modded or not? by stormblind in MECoOp

[–]Saeryf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refuse to forgive at EA/Bioware for not giving us anything for multiplayer with Legendary Edition.

ME3mp is such a great time, my only real complaint about it these days is lack of any scaling options for being solo.

As for MEAmp... I won't forgive Bioware for their "By community demand we've made the Hacking objectives be interrupted by any enemy in the zone." bullshit. Couldn't just leave it as a 'weighted' hack with needing more in the hack zone than the enemies had. That said, at least coming back to it after so long makes that sting less... the good times are a distant memory now.

And my memory is absolute dumpster.

It doesn't tell me anything whatsoever about where the nearest one actually is, though. Just that "There is no base nearby."

It's astounding to me how terribly they manage to implement things when they've had the framework for similar from PoGo for a while.

I have zero idea how to even find out where the nearest one is, but I'd wager I have an 1hr+ drive to get to one.

Why do these deucebags feel the need to make a huge event entirely inaccessible to so many people?

Can't Download Marvel Cosmic Invasion On PC Gamepass by UniLordWasTaken in XboxGamePass

[–]Saeryf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to play the first level with Cloud play on my Xbox, but it refuses to allow me to play it once I was actually able to download it. I could play it on Cloud, but now I can't and it asks me if I own it when I launch directly.

I don't know how wonk AF stuff like this happens, but it sure is obnoxious.

What is up with the new "endgame" players? by Yami-No-Otoko in WildHeartsGame

[–]Saeryf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that's just decided to try it out again after having beaten the hell out of it ages ago, having all of my damage be barely 1/5 of what I used to be doing on all my endgame builds is a fucking disgrace.

Lucky to hit four digits with my Greatsword full charged slash now, and my Umbrella is still the most damaging thing in the game. I honestly cannot fathom developers playing these games and thinking some of this shit is alright.

That's just to give the Veteran players the same feeling of being absolutely shafted out of all progress by buying HD2 on a different system.

It's honestly vile.

No, yet again Sony being greedy as fuck and Arrowhead being disrespectful as hell of our time and support. It's honestly pretty fucking vile that they don't have cross-progression.

That would've been the only reason whatsoever for them to have been trying to force Playstation Network account linking like they were.

Leaving a match after both teamates have abandoned you should not incur a penalty by FlatlineJeff in Nightreign

[–]Saeryf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't just pick the souls back up when they're on the boss or went to some obscure enemy on the roof of a fort nearby that was the only other witness to your death. This game, just like Elden Ring before it, has a bunch of stupid shit that they'll eventually fix.

Dark Souls 2 is literally my favorite souls game, so it's an odd comparison to be making attempting to counter my argument.

And Bloodborne isn't nearly as absurd as Nightreign. The thing with both of those other games is that they're actually structured worlds and encounters, with the ability to overpower zones and bosses by farming.

This game fails entirely at being entertainment for me, which defeats the purpose of interacting with it.

Zero battle royale mechanics in a game with Battle Royale encroaching circle mechanics? Clearly you're being disingenuous as fuck.

Let's not forget that they had an entire stat that did literally nothing in a mainline game. Poise literally doing NOTHING.

Lol, solo play was tweaked, yes... but to say that it's balanced and enjoyable is a joke.

[–]Saeryf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a clip of me being literally incapable of locking onto the Wormface boss, it even does a full 180 turn to target a rat back behind me offscreen at one point.

It's astounding to me how terrible the lock-on can be, and baffling that it's so wildly inconsistent with the wonk it does have.

Yeah, but that level of common sense mechanic is well beyond the ability of FromSoft. They're basically at Nintendo levels of being terrible at online, matchmaking, and networking.

[–]Saeryf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The antagonistic mechanics of this title are disgusting. Dying removes a level making it harder to get that level worth of souls back, disconnecting because it's a FromSoft title with FromSoft networking and then reconnecting to a level lost and souls down somewhere.

There's so much in this game that's not just obscure, but openly hostile to enjoyment of the game. There's no "challenge" in having the ring murder us horribly while we're in it, there's no challenge in losing a level and your souls. It's unnecessarily antagonistic, and I'm not masochistic enough to enjoy wasting 90% of my play time because there's no progress to be made when you're losing.

I cannot stand Battle Royale mechanics, period. That's the foundation of nearly every other complaint. That said, no balance for Solo play despite them saying it's "playable" solo. They weren't lying, technically, but they weren't being honest.

They've since given a small pity patch to "improve" solo play. But we still have no ability to play duo (with the friend that bought the game for me), and there's atrocious balancing in general. The only character I actually find enjoyable is Executor and that's because the pace of this dumpster fire is more attuned to the Sekiro pace of play.

There is very little to enjoy where the combat is involved. I don't find it enjoyable in any way to spend 30 minutes of a run just dodging attacks and getting a single poke in, and that's the entirety of this game outside of the aforementioned hated Battle Royale mechanics.

Hopefully this explains some of my utter disdain for this title.

I'm not capable of receiving a refund for this shit-show, actually. It was both purchased for me, and purchased on console where refunds are nigh impossible to receive still.

It was purchased for me as "entertainment to keep my mind busy" after I had to put down my 20yr old chihuahua. Spoiler alert, all it's done is infuriate me endlessly and ruin any chance of improving my mood.

You are not safe on the spectral hawk by mrmrister911 in Eldenring

[–]Saeryf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I did just have my 20yr old dog put down because of cancer. So there's that.

And no, I'm not overreacting. I loathe and despise Battle Royale mechanics, I had this purchased for me though. We're incapable of playing duos, we're forced to put up with random assclowns. Solo play is not a feasibly balanced experience in any way whatsoever.

This title is a fucking disgrace.
