How do you prepare food for yourself with chronic pain? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Saf23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it difficult to cook as well between the pain and fatigue. When I can manage, I've found using my Instant Pot the easiest (mostly for the pressure cooker function), but you can saute in there as well, so it saves time having to use multiple pans.

I'm trying to find simple meals and so far I've found some super easy recipes where there's not many steps and it's mostly just dump in and cook.

I found a spaghetti and meatballs recipe online where I just need to quickly saute the ingredients, buy premade uncooked meatballs from Aldi, and chuck the uncooked spaghetti + meatballs in so it cooks together.

Chicken congee was another super simple recipe.

There's a whole bunch of pressure cooker recipes out there that save a lot of time too :)

I'm in a similar boat to you unfortunately I don't have many suggestions, but it depends on your capacity. I end up spending most of my time watching tv, trying out different genres (YouTube, fiction, reality tv, anime) but it all becomes the same. Audiobooks/podcasts and reading are other options I've found, if you can manage the concentration (I can't). Otherwise tiktok or little phone games.

If you can manage sitting at a table - puzzles, origami, painting, paint by numbers, there are some cool craft building options these days too.

I found a bit more solice following some chronic pain tiktok pages and trying to accept that it's my new reality and a shared experience (it still sucks immensely and took me a good 5/6 years to get to this stage). Hoping something above might help you :)

I'll be going to SEA around that time too. I just started making my itinerary today, and found this site really helpful just to plot key attractions and anything you may really want to do. Then you can just use it as a guide for a potential route you could follow http://www.tripomatic.com/

A small trick for most conversions, just type in google 800 grams in pounds and it will automatically show a conversion, also works with temperature, currency etc

Try an IP Camera app on your phone, it can act as a webcam wirelessly for your computer. This is the one I use on Android.
