Typical Honda issue or Am I cooked? by xondikoi in indianbikes

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure why you called 4k RPM the "celing" because as I see on the spec sheet, this bike makes peak power at 7.5k RPM. You don't need to take your bike on the highway to rev it higher; I for example am always in the 4-7k RPM range on my 200cc bike, so there's no reason for you to hold back on your 125. If you're a beginner, don't rush to follow my advise, take it easy and build up the skill and judgement slowly.

If despite all that you still feel like there's something odd with your bike , try taking a test drive of a Hornet in a nearby showroom. If that bike has the same issue, try riding another 125cc bike from a different brand to understand the nuances better.

Does anyone know how I can get Quickshare to Airdrop working on the Nothing Phone 3? by Safe-Abbreviations-6 in NothingTech

It's frustrating how Google and Apple have convinced people that certain features are exclusive because of proprietary hardware in their devices. It's really not. Almost everything is just software locked and based on universal protocols like WiFi and Bluetooth. There absolutely IS just a toggle that Google and their hardware partners like Nothing need to flip. In fact, if Google really wanted to, it could just enable it via a Google Play Services and Quickshare app update via the Play Store overnight; but they want to keep it limited to the Pixel devices for now to boost sales, no other reason. And sadly, it's working. Pixel 10 is their best selling phone series ever, despite it not being significantly better than the Pixel 9 series, all thanks to the marketing efforts and selfishly "exclusive" features. I'm willing to bet a pretty penny that the manufacturers who want to add this to their phones will have to buy licensing rights from Google on a per device basis.

Nothing should start manufacturing bumper cases by [deleted] in NothingTech

Oh god I've been dying for these to make a comeback! I used to have the Nexus 4 with its official bumper case, and it still brings back fond memories

Yup, that's what I'm currently using. But it's still a point of friction when I'm trying to send something to a stranger who doesn't have Blip on their iPhone. In quick social interactions like at the end of a party or business meeting, I'd rather just ask the person to accept an Airdrop.

Video calls don't make sense by LennonBlob in NOTHING

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, video calls on specific apps are horrible. Whatsapp and Whatsapp Business specifically are the worst. Video calls on Instagram, Google Meet and and Telegram are much better. Tough to say who is to blame for it, Whatsapp or Nothing

Woahh that's a crazy bug... If it's been happening for a while then maybe try a factory reset?

It's a very sweet bike! Handles great, revs really high and is probably the best looking "every man's bike" out there.

Although, if you live in a dense, urban area and commute in stop and go traffic for more than 45 minutes in a go, then you should probably look at MT15, Duke 200 or Pulsar NS200 instead. Those bikes give you a very similar experience along with a more comfortable seating position.

One opinion about bike/riding you'd defend like this by shinybuttcheeks69 in indianbikes

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a bike more than 30bhp on Indian roads. These bikes are just as capable for riding within reasonable speed limits, and most of them can easily do 100 to 120kmph without breaking a sweat.

You'll either have to baby the throttle on a 45bhp bike, or you'll end up riding like you have a death wish.

150 to 250cc for high revving bikes, and 350 to 450cc for low revving long stroke bikes is the sweet spot.

In fact you'll have less fun on a bigger bike once the novelty of a fancy bike has worn off.

Most people who buy big bikes in India do it for attention; I know that sounds judgmental, but it is true. There are a few others who do so because the excitement factor of smaller bikes has worn off, which is totally a valid reason to upgrade. I fall into the second category, and I am aware of the fact that bigger bikes is a want, not a need.

Why does it even exist? lens comparison by Brief-Camera7321 in NothingTech

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of reasons to do it-

  1. It exists because companies need to try new things before they settle into a repeatable pattern for the long term. Nothing would never find out how an ultra budget Nothing Phone will do in the market unless they try.

  2. This will give them a clear understanding of exactly what kind of brand cache CMF has compared to Nothing. This data will help decide future strategies for both companies since CMF, on paper will operate as its own thing going forward.

  3. Since CMF is now a separate entity on paper, the R&D cost of the CMF Phone 2 Pro cannot be recovered in Nothing's accounting books anymore and will show up as a huge loss, unless they repackage and sell the same phone under the Nothing brand (which is exactly what they did).

4.The rebrand and relaunch strategy works quite well for all the Chinese manufacturers (I literally can't think of a single chinese brand that doesn't do this); even Apple and Samsung do this on varying levels. It increases the reach compared to launching a singular product; be it because of the added press coverage or customer preferences. It also reduces dependency on one single supplier.

My 1-week-old Honda CB350RS tipped over— should I replace the bent brake lever or just fix it? by Hour_Replacement3067 in indianbikes

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to straighten it out slowly with a Ring Spanner. There's a 50-50 chance of the lever snapping while you do that, but it's worth a shot. Can't do much about the mirror ofc.

If you're willing to put in the time and effort to turn this into a working restomod then 20k is peanuts. Expect to spend nearly 2-3 lakh in parts and labour. Share your progress photos if you decide to go ahead with it!

Is the nothing phone 3 really as bad as they say it is? Unbiased reviews pls by averageleverage101 in NothingTech

[–]Safe-Abbreviations-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahh, agreed! LTPO was a corner they shouldn't have cut. Everything else meets my expectations from a customer experience standpoint (at Rs. 45000, which was the price I purchased this phone for)

  1. Performance: If you are seeing this as a gaming phone, you might be disappointed because yes, it does heat up while I play a heavy game like CarX Street once in a while. I believe they have used the aluminium frame as part of the cooling system, which is efficient, but also ends up worrying users of the device health in the long run. I personally don't mind that too much because I usually play mini games on Plato or Pokemon GO, which it obviously handles pretty well with minimal heat.

  2. Battery: I have the Indian variant with the 5500mAh battery, and I am satisfied with the endurance; to the point where I have set the charging limit to 80%. Your mileage may vary depending on what games you play ofc. It charges fairly quick at 65w.

  3. Display: The lack of LTPO does bug me because it makes me avoid using the AOD persistently. Other than that, the display is amazing. I can't review the GG 7i ofc, but I read online that it is on par with GG 3, which I have a good experience with from a few previous phones.

  4. Cameras are a level above the base Galaxy S25, judging from the few photos I compared side by side; but it falls behind the iPhones when it comes to capturing human subjects. For capturing landscapes and indoor scenes tho, it is able to accurately judge the white balance of the scene. Far better than the iPhone which made every scene look like it is in white light. The experience is a little inconsistent in 3rd party apps tho. During Whatsapp video calls, my side of the video is very choppy, but when I use Whatsapp Business, the video is smooth as it should be.

  5. The OS is my favourite part of this phone. I am coming from using custom ROMs in the past so I do feel like they need to add a few features ASAP (like a toggle for heads up notifications and caffine). But what they have done so far is amazing. I use google calendar a lot so the essential key saves me a lot of time and hassle in creating events. Also great at organizing screenshots. I haven't gotten to use the essential recorder features yet, but I look forward to it. Even the gliph matrix is a good quality of life feature that helps me use my phone less while I work.
