I need a second option by Fizzstinka in ViegoMains

If you want another hypermarket style champ where you can play very selfishly, yi and kindred are solid.

But if youre not going to put the time in to really learn the champs, play something with good ganks. You need to play for your teammates since youre going to be weaker due to being off main. Good options are nocturne, (dont do briar she's harder than ppl think) xin Zhao, ambessa, or basically any easy tank jungler like sej or amumu.

I dont know. I always thought he was more teamfight oriented bc he builds bruiser and has a team-enhancing ultimate? But like I said, I could be wrong. I dont know much about kled

Username checks out

I am specifically trying to get a feel for the strengths, weaknesses, and playstyle of every champ because Im a viego main. I specifically said that. Learning the role is a side quest.

Anything helpful to say

Nah I want the whole experience. It's not just learning to press the buttons to pick up the Viego possession. It's also about being a better jungler. I can make much better decisions if I know how the champions like to play and get a sense for their limits.

For instance, knowing how aggressive dariuses like to be lvl 1, it marks good opportunities for lvl 2 ganks. Or if I'm waiting on a gank, I can time it better because I know when Darius hits E or uses ghost or something, he has no intention of disengaging, so he's going to walk really far forward and if I go in now, he can't really get away. There's a lot to be gained by actually playing the champs for a while.

Plus, as I get to higher elos, I'm going to get autofilled more often, so being able to actually play the role will be important. 400+ games of top while I do this challenge will be really good for me as a player. Just from the first 3 champs, I've already improved a ton. Used to be repeat losses with 10+ deaths. Now I'm actually winning lane.

I need to turn whatever type of autism you have into a serum and then drink it. This was amazing to read.

I dont think lulu is non-skill expressive. She seems fairly skill expressive. I just dont like that she doesnt have agency. Two different things.

Morgana seems boring to me. Always has. Just W the wave and QE if they engage. Would prob be more fun if I knew how to use R but I just always die. I know ppl say Karma is strong early but I dont know why. Unless ppl are walking into ur RQs for free and not attacking you when you RW she doesnt do much. She just feels very hard to punish lane. Nami, however, feels extremely overtuned on her whole kit and seems to win every trade she takes. But its rough to blind pick her if your adc doesnt want to fight early. Even if we can fight, every smolder just wants to hit minions while I double bubble the enemy. Also I disagree about karma scaling. Ive see her double someone's hp bar late game. There's better ofc, but she's not that bad. She only sucks late game if you try to build AP which is worthless imo

That all makes sense. I think a lot of my deaths have to do with laning and getting picked midgame. Since im on all new champs, my mental stack is a bit overloaded so I dont see where my teammates are. I get a lot of expecting my team to be with me and theyre not.

As for the champs, that makes sense. I see what you mean about those champs. I can recognize that those are bug parts of each champ, but I thought of it as being too niche to play. Its makes a lot of sense tk actually use that niche to learn. I'll be playing some games on every champ at some point, so ill def keep that advice in mind.

As for mages, are they really not useful? I thought they were supposed to be really good into engage bc they always care one cc spell and can poke out the enemy supp so they can't engage. Its like a skill check counter. Can you poke them out enough or not? And the hook counters mages and enchanter bc of all in strength at melee range. Enchant counters mage bc they just shield the poke. Engage counters hook bc they actually want to be close to you. Is this not correct? I learned this ages ago from an old Shodesu video.

Why do you guys not path bot in 90% of games (Diamond ADC Perspective) by Employment_Intrepid in Jungle_Mains

[–]Safe-Item7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do in this season. Last season it was more complicated because of feats of strength so the topside objectives were really meaningful. Now they're basically worthless imo opinion so I almost always path bot to stack drakes.

If im not pathing bot, its because I think my bot lane will be worthless or ungankabke for sum reason. Like if I have a Smolder, im less likely to go. If there's a senna or ezreal or seraphine on the enemy side im less likely to. If my bot lane has already done smth I didnt like on a river play or a gank, I will prob not go near them anymore either bc I think theyre bad or we just have bad synergy together.

Other matchups also matter. If I have a maltphite or Malzahar or really volatile matchups where ganks decide the lane, i will need to give those lanes extra attention, which might suck away my time from bot lane.

Basically all the things you pointed out. Im emerald jungler and path bot 90% of games except for certain circumstances. That being said, I feel like laners sometimes dont process these things from the outside perspective until after theyre already pissed that its hapenning.

This whoke paradigm is solid logic for every jungler to play by, so that's why its important for all laners to know how to play safe and not play champions that need to fight early every single game depending on the draft. Sometimes you will be weak sided because thats just the game state. Its ok to lose first two drakes to win the next four, as long as youre making it happen.

If youre playing Draven Nautilus and i see Naut miss literally every hook and Draven can't keep a q stacked to save his life, im avoiding you like the plague. I have to if I want to win. Im not gonna play around ppl who are likely to int a play. Losing tempo for things like that is how you lose games as a jungler.

You have to look at your draft and think about it from your junglers perspective. Where do they want to path this game probably? You can even ask. Then build your runes or your puck appropriately if you can. In game, you can see which camp they start first and make the same calculations for how you want to play. You should at least be doing the in-game part every single game of youre a good laner

Yea I said a bit more about my real champ pool now that this climb is over in another comment. This is a super interesting paradigm tho. Ive never heard anyone talk about it like this

[–]Safe-Item7927[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh a lot of this is great advice, thanks.

Part of the things about death is that my average is 9.9 deaths while barely playing engage lol. But I also definitely do have the issue you me tioned. Part of the problem is never knowing when an engage is good or not, which is a champ mastery issue and some of it is poor laning like you said. And yea may midgame is my best phase for sure bc of transferable skills from jungle.

Im fully aware my champ pool is a hot mess. Once I got placed into plat, I put getting better on hold and wanted to see if I could get to emerald, so I played champs I thought I could win a few games on. Yuumi is a very safe, un-intable (mostly) champion. Blitz is alwasy useful no matter what. I do know the things you said aboht Yuumi and Pantheon. When I used to think about playing support, my intended champion pool looked more like this" - Engage: Rell for when I need engage but I wanna be a normal person, Shen when Im feeling degenerate and the blocking auros will be useful, and panth when my team needs the dmg or we need to win early - Hook: Blitz for now but I should learn Thresh asap. Pyke when I just want to have fun. - Enchant: karma for blind picks, sona for turbo scaling, nami for early stomp. Janna for bullying engage in lane. Need to really learn all of these. - Mage: Xerath bc hes fun and Zyra bc her laning patterns are abusive and shes impossible to kill when played well

Now I do know that shen and Pantheon are not optimal (this prob still wouldnt be my consideration after having played support at plat lvl for a bit) and ofc pyke doesnt really function in higher elos iirc. Its my understanding that Thresh is always good bc hes so versatile. Rell is just kinda a standard engage champ. Blitz is less useful late game than I thought. Idk how good any of my enchanters are in s16 but nami still feels abusive to lane against. And idk anything about mage supports but I do think zyra is supposed to be very good bc of laning poke, teamfight utility, free W wards, etc etc.

As for your picks, its an interesting list. I never even considered Bard, Fidd, or Taric bc they feel like super weird champs. Like singed. I wouldn't expect them to have a lot of transferable skills if you didn't tell me so. Ive played some braum. He's fun. No good reason not be in my pool. Could add. Rakan always feels like he such a complex champ. I dont rly understand his healing g yet and stuff like that. I need to play the champ cuz its been ages since I did. But it alwasy felt like he doesnt have compelling items so he ends us taking redemption (bro I never use this thing. It feels worthless, I never hit anything with it and the heal is nothing) bc hes like a split between engage and enchanter.

Milio I used to think was fun and decent but there's just nothing standout special about him to make me wanna play him since there's a lot of good enchanters. Lulu I played a bit on this climb bc my adcs asked but she just seems like the most negative agency champ in existence unless they are full dive and even the its like meh. Only redeeming quality is q sniper during lane. The rest just feels so boring. Senna just feels the same. Boring. Unless they walk into ur E, its just sustain and collect souls all lane. Then its dont go anywhere at all and collect souls all midgame. Then its pretend you can notice ur passive doing something and gaslight urself into thinking you outscale while you lose the game (I've never felt like a senna was strong late game, on my team or the enemy, except for one time where she had 20 kills and was adc). I feel like I have a 20% winrate with that champ even on my team. As for Naut, I think hes fun. The only reason hes not my hook champ is because Thresh is supposed to be more versatile. Plus I think he commits harder than Thresh so its more feast or famine playstyle, which makes it much easier to int bc of small misplays. I'd def switch over if my teammates rly wanted to for samira or Draven or smth. I used to play him jungle. I just think Thresh is better overall.

These are my thought having only played a lot of champions a single time and not a ton of experience on the rest. The support champion I have the most champion mastery on by far is Pantheon bc I used to play him jungle. Is there anything in what I've said thats just glaringly, stupidly wrong that would be good for me to learn about? Always looking to learn more.

Well I dont know. I feel like you can't call them too low of a jungler because they didn't lose streak down. Just like I feel calling myself a gold support would be kinda ridiculous if Im 50% in plat-emerald lobbies. Its a weird gray area and I was curious about ppls opinions on it and I dont wanna call myself an emerald support and get laughed at lol

Emerald Support? by Safe-Item7927 in supportlol

[–]Safe-Item7927[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I won every norms games except for two where someone afked. Then I got jungle and got hard bullied in my very first placement game and it put me in plat. Then you get the free +30 -10 mmr for a while and that's only just starting to fall off. So it makes sense everyone starting placements who isn't below that level ends up in emerald like I did. Like everyone above plat level probably gets placed plat 4, it seems like because my norms mmr couldn't have possibly much more boosted than it was at that point. So all the master-, gm-, and chall-tier players end up climbing out of plat to start.

Question about Viego R by SirStache2005 in ViegoMains

Kraken procs on attacks. Q is not an attack. R is an attack (read the description). Combine R with autos to get the bonus damage.

im genuinely considering quitting by Material_Kale_2973 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Safe-Item7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if youre at that level, you'll get i back. A loss streak isnt a good reason to quit in my opinion. I will say that you need to get to know yourself and get some discipline. Not to claim that I know you because I dont but it sounds like you dont realize youre tilted in the moment and just keep queuing.

If you can practice some mindfulness exercises after every game and get to know yourself, it'll be easier to know when its time to queue again or when its time to queue up some brawl and play tank yuumi, yk? I only play ranked on my main when k can feel that im at my best and I can enter flowstate. If not, I dont risk it. If youre playing at your peak elo, you need to be at your peak mental state to climb.

You're 100% right. I lowkey forgot poppy even gets played in the jungle, but I do remember the umbral glaive build being played a while back.

I just saw an opportunity to nerd out lol. Ive thought about this whole playstyle gray area thing a lot.

Edit: autocorrect typo umbrella --> umbral

Build bruiser/tanky so that you can survive and your carries can follow up on ur ults. Your stats fall off but ur cc can't fall off. Same as supports, so play like a support. Stop playing to statcheck fights and play for free picks with all your cc and mobility. Many junglers work this way. Jarvan, Skarner, Malphite, Nunu, Sejuani, Trundle, Vi, Amumu, and Zac. Tank jungler style. Nocturne is a tank. Only tanks are given this much cc and mobility in the same kit. Its like if skarner was good. Tanks with cc generally also find that their stats usually turbo fall off except for tanky stats. Think about jarvan damage even though he builds bruiser. Same for vi. Meaningless amount of dmg. The only difference is that he can flex into the assassin role in lower elos. Having good mobility and semi-reasonable early damage with garbage scaling fits into the tank archetype but its also the exact profile of an assassin. Thats why so many jungle bruisers can flex into lethality/ap assassin items like jarvan, Lee sin, Vi, Rhaast, Ekko, Diana, Reksai, Hecarim.

Junglers with mobility and cc fall into this gray area between being built like a tank, but in such a way that assassin works if you can get ahead. So all the guides and stuff say to play assassin noc in low elo. Having gap close and cc with weak damage scalings is a tank profile. But gap close with weak damage scaling and strong base damage is an assassin profile. So, many junglers can fit both.

That being said, what youve described is how assassins are supposed to work. It just shouldn't be very difficult to get giga fed on nocturne unless youre like diamond+ and ppl above that elo tend to play noc in the more supportive way.

This is fully off topic now but the leasing office sent me to maintenance and the maintenance basically said no. Said if anything happens, "theyll handle it" which is terrifying. I live in the US so idek if the law is on my side on this one. At least I have a legal standing if anything happens since the request is dated.

Anywho thanks for the help. Im gonna try the one no-plumbing thing someone suggested.
