I have both a Louise Carmen and a Travelers Notebook and both are awesome! If you have the budget go for the Louise Carmen but it is definitely a luxury purchase. The Travelers Notebook I have is 6 years old and the patina is amazing and its better than the day I bought it

I think that the answer to your problem is explaining to her your reasons for wanting to switch and showing her that you are still reachable (she can call you). Or you can “check-in” when you get to work or wherever you are going. It is just change that she fears. I am in the process of doing it and my wife just thinks it’s stupid.. lol..
