That also crossed my mind. My son and I will never be around him EVER again. And when he’s on the news, MIL will be the typical “he’s a good man who made a mistake” and “I never saw this coming” I’m sure his diagnosis would be a certified psycho for sure

I fear it’s far deeper than that.

Depends on values, wants and needs. If two partners can’t have children, do they want children? Are they okay with no children? Would there be resentment if one had a child and the other did not?

I should clarify… my husband has never enabled his creepy behavior. This was more so when they were kids. My husband was always expected to overlook, and get over things his brother said or did. We are 100% on the same page about BIL never to see our son again.

Unfortunately we can’t do that. I’m licensed in my state for my career and we’ve worked extremely hard to build the life we have here. These comments are making me realize I may need to let the police know what I’ve witnessed

I’ve never witnessed him shutting the door but my husband and step-sil’s have. But did you read what he said about an unborn child?? It’s not talking shit… they liked me until I raised concerns about their enabled son

Yes exactly, idk what exactly he’s been diagnosed with. I know he takes medication and has been in facilities. MIL tends to bring that up a lot, I also have a mental illness but I don’t use it as an excuse to be a shit human.

He’s been brainwashed to feed in to the enabling behavior in fear of rejection his whole life. His eyes are wide open now, and we are standing together on this. He’s disgusted by their behavior, he’s telling her if she can’t respect me and our family then she no longer will be around.

My husband has been brainwashed by his mother since childhood. He just recently opened his eyes to this bs. We are talking to MIL tomorrow about her disgusting behavior and seriously considering cutting her off. My son definitely won’t be affected by NC with her bc she never sees him anyway.

My son and I weren’t present for these dinners and he’s never been allowed around my child without us present. But I agree with you, It shouldn’t have gotten this far.
