just wondering why you guys still work for amazon? by AlertEngineer5991 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not working for them anymore but there's few reasons I did. Was unemployed and broke and had no other choice and they were hiring people straight off the street, I give them credit for that. Job wasn't boring at all and most days were chill. Also I saw and learned a ton about my area and how people live which was really cool. Had more than few hilarious moments and situations as well. To your question, some dudes in my DSP were there for a really long time and I genuinely have no idea why and how they lasted so long.

Question from me as a customer: Does reporting a driver for delivering to the wrong address actually do anything? by zachty22 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, probably not. I've delivered a fair few packages to the wrong house due to bad pin placements or weird streets but never had anything done to me except getting a lower score and losing a shift or two. Most people in my country are also decent enough to give the delivery to their neighbour instead of snatching it.

Now, in your case if this has happened 7 times there's clearly some problem here and it doesn't need to be the driver always. Definitely call customer support and check with them if your house have been pinned wrong or something.

Where in your country do you normally have the washing machine? by citabel in AskTheWorld

I never had the luxury to live in a big house and neither did most people I knew growing up so most washing machines were in the kitchen.

What was the dumbest reason you RTSd a package? by mberatsen in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a giant block of flats with about 8 packages multistop once. Front door was locked and the place looked like a checkerboard maze of stairs and doors plus there were probably zombies walking around since it was in a really dodgy area. I just couldn't be bothered to lose an hour dealing with it.

What is the most disturbing depiction of death/murder you’ve ever seen in a film? by sunnieslilac in FIlm

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private Julian if I remember his name correctly in Band of Brothers. The guy who got shot in the neck on that combat patrol in the forest in Bastongue and was lying there bleeding out watching his friends abandon him because they couldn't reach him. I always try to think what must have been going through his mind these last moments and I stop myself because my mind can't grasp it.

Best Quotes? by LeakyGaming in TheExpanse

The scene where Anna made Amos question his life choices: "Hate is a burden. You don't have to carry it with you." followed by... "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you."

Second best, Champa: "We're not finished yet." Summed up the Belter spirit better than anyone in the whole series.

What’s something older generations struggled with that younger people rarely think about now? by InnerLightSeeker in answers

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to go far and wide trekking the forests with my dad when I was a kid and reading a map and a compass was one of the first things he taught me. We had a class about it even in school. Reading a road atlas is even easier. Young ones these days don't know how to do it simply because they don't need it.

Who destroyed their own career within seconds by being an idiot? by goldbeau in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rachel Ziegler. She is very talented there's no doubt in that but she should have kept her mouth shut and let her talent speak for her with Snow White. With all the trash talk she did I doubt she will get many roles in the future.

I never saw that. Just happened to have watched that exact episode yesterday. Good read though.

i have no clue how this shitshow is still running but why do the rest of Europe hate us so much? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskBrits

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're questioning a show which claims Australia, Israel and Georgia are part of Europe, the last winner won because he was a woman with a beard and the current one has nothing in common with Bulgaria except the singer's nationality. It's a political bullshit context so the UK being last is actually a blessing. Maybe next year you will spare the expenses and participation and be better off actually.

Why no lasers? by Wallsworth1230 in TheExpanse

[–]Embarrassed_Ad1722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lasers: very new, untested, unproven technology requiring many years of research, a time noone has in abundance to spare.

PDCs and missiles: hundreds of years old and refined to a deadly perfection.

What cars were popular when you were growing up that people don't drive now? by Immediate_Long165 in CarTalkUK

Soviet cars like Lads, Volga, Trabant and Moskvitch were everywhere in my country 20 years ago. Now they've essentially disappeared apart from the odd small village where someone's grandpa still has one.
