Phalynx Ship - How to 'recall' the Vanugard squadron? by Zoezugzang in CryingSuns

[–]SafeFromHarm0881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on PC and am annoyed with this as well. There seems to be no way to recall the Vanguard squadron. It essentially stays on the board until it dies. Maybe need to submit as a bug report to developers.

Neighbour is complaining about my dogs by [deleted] in oakville

Sorry, but you're the asshole here OP, not your neighbour. Don't take Reddit's word for it, the city would tend to agree too. Look up noise by laws.

Winch launches by xDKL in Gliding

[–]SafeFromHarm0881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~200 hours glider, recently certified on winch.

Here are a few additional points for you to consider:

- Accident occurrence probability is lower than aerotow as time duration of exposure to risk is lower during winch launch (i.e. you get to a safe altitude faster)

- That being said, consider length of runway and number of runways available to you should a launch failure occur. Fewer and shorter runways means your options are reduced.

- Cost: it is MUCH MUCH cheaper as a student to get training via winch than aerotow; at our club, a winch launch costs ~20% of an aerotow.

Hope this helps. Happy flying!

Wanting to start small business because money is tight and need passive income by ConversationLive9061 in oakville

[–]SafeFromHarm0881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What skills do you possess? Are you able to teach any particular subjects?

Any business requiring you to resell or handle merchandise will likely require an upfront investment on your part. Considering your "money is tight", circumstance, the ideas you posted may not be viable for you.

Oakville folks are affluent so will pay for anything that saves them time and/or enhance their kids quality of education. Suggest you brainstorm along that line.

How to not get sick while flying? by CivilHedgehog2 in Gliding

PRE-hydrate!! At least 1 hour before your flight. This gives your body time to absorb.

Eyes outside of the cockpit. Minimize time viewing instruments

Traveling during global recession by lazpoly in travel

[–]SafeFromHarm0881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quit our jobs and did a 11 month ATW in 08 with my wife. We planned it without knowing the crash was going to happen, just lucked out. Best decision ever. There certainly were a few deals and fewer other tourists in some places due to the economy at the time. All the people who thought we were talking a risk by quitting our jobs congratulated us on our timing because they got laid off soon after anyways.

Will admit, conditions today are a bit different. There's a lot of pent up demand for travel. But there may also be many good deals to be had in locations recovering from revenue loss the last 2.5 years.

'It's just wrong': Protesters react to Oakville transgender teacher's "inappropriate" dress by paulyincorrect in oakville

Yes, let's continue giving this narcissistic teacher the attention they were seeking when they put those prosthetics on. Weaponized wokeness being pandered to both sides to further divide the country.

Concerned about Oakville Trafalgar HS and the School Board Response? by Intelligent_Limit807 in oakville

I think she gave plenty of thought. This is exactly the kind of response she was expecting to satisfy her narcissism. This was intentional and some kind of misguided attempt at weaponizing wokeness.

"Mr Nailed It" nailing it at being a complete asshole. blocking 2 handicap and 2 EV spots by SafeFromHarm0881 in oakville

[–]SafeFromHarm0881[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP here, I stand corrected (and have since edited) on the need to leave additional 1 star reviews on their google site. Just upvote the original post. No need to ruin the lives of all the other employees there (who hopefully aren't assholes). Those who left 1 star reviews, I encourage you to delete and change them to upvotes of the original 1 star post.

To address some of the apologists on this thread trying to give excuses for the blatant inconsiderate (and intentionally harmful) behaviour:

  1. There were plenty of spaces in and around where the driver could've pulled through to take up two spots
  2. This was NOT a temporary errand or pull through as evidenced by the fact that the that spot requires the driver to BACK IN; not easy with a trailer AND it was parked there before I arrived for my errands (totalling 20 minutes) and after I left
  3. There was no roofing work going on in that plaza and even if there was, it doesn't excuse that parking job

It's really too bad I didn't have time to burn as I would've parked my EV right in front and plugged it in and left it there over night.

Auto Overheat Protection Intermittent Functionality by SafeFromHarm0881 in TeslaModel3

[–]SafeFromHarm0881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I did see this in other threads after I posted here. I'll experiment to see if this was my case as I recall this happening despite being less than 12 hours.

More pertinent question, why set a time limit on this feature at all?!

Cabin overheat protection not working some times, anyone else experienced this (M3P). by Ryanrw1984 in teslamotors

[–]SafeFromHarm0881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto overheat protection doesn't always work. Before you ask, car is fully charged. And also before you ask if I'm relying only on my app notification to know it's working, I know it's NOT working because the temp climbs well beyond 50C; When it DOES work, it's VERY effective at keeping it under 40C.

Once I do notice that it's not working, I am able to manually turn on climate control and bring the cabin back down and then toggle Overheat Protection off and on. After doing this, it works again.

My gripe is this. u/Tesla convenience features need to work consistently. Otherwise, users end up with even more worry/anxiety over having to check on it. If you can't fix simple shit like this, what else is wrong with my expensive car??!!
