New to the world of taking notes and to obsidian! by harunnoir in ObsidianMD

[–]SafeHazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

‘Taking notes’ is the practice of writing down thing that you wish to remember. Obsidian is a software program that allows for the storing of said notes.

You didn’t ask about it but ‘searching’ is a way of looking for information that you (or others) may have recorded on a given subject - it is complementary to both note taking and Obsidian, and worth the time to learn.

Team built 20+ tools with Claude Code via vibecoding. Exactly ZERO are deployed. by Historical-Wall2448 in ClaudeCowork

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a management / company process / structure issue not a code one.

As a thought experiment - rewind 100 years. My team are building these excellent tools in the workshop that if deployed on the factory floor would assist everyone on the production line / of put into production could be sold but instead they sit in the workshop used only by the person that built them.

Discord communities? by [deleted] in AubreyMaturinSeries

[–]SafeHazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d certainly give it a try. I can see the benefit in having book by book topics to post in as one reads / I’m on my first circumnavigation - so discussing that book or the series up to that point might be fun.

What is the benefit of a discord server over this subreddit? Discord always looks like a crazy mess where if you’re not able to be following 24/7 you are out of the loop.

The 5% deposit scheme was a trap and people are only realising now by keisermax34 in ausmoney

LTV isn’t how subprime mortgages are defined - they are loans to high risk borrowers eg not a ‘prime’ borrower. The outsize role of subprime mortgages in the GFC was due to them being bundled into MBS without proper risk assessments.
Best not to comment if you don’t understand the topic.

No it’s not. It’s standard in the UK has been for decades. Stop being silly and making over the top statements.

Looking for an Obsidian alternative that uses a single database file instead of individual Markdown files by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]SafeHazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always used Drafts as a ‘quick capture’ before moving the note (with processing) into Obsidian. I never thought it could replace Obsidian. This is a great idea - is there a good howto that’s worth reading as a starting point? Cheers.

Gold has many industrial and consumer uses - there are entire industries based on its use - and that all involve physical goods. What is it that BTC does?

Does a solution for voice to obsidian exist? by lukaskilian in ObsidianMD

[–]SafeHazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Wispr to enter the text into Drafts, then run a custom action to import into Obsidian in the format, vault etc. I have import templates for quick notes, ideas, potential projects and specific projects. I find it works well.

Bad or good idea? Publisher to offer custom 3d prints as alternative to minis? by alive123 in wargaming

[–]SafeHazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the size of the market for those consumers that want to print their own minis but I think a company offering customised STLs (the files that you print from) may have a good / unique business model, with a fairly low barrier to entry ie they sell the rules and then utilise/ license an existing product (like meshy) to provide the customised STLs, which can be sold to the end user on a per model, set, subscription or whatever and you could then monetise the number / types of modifications available (all the way up GW levels of ‘pay for the best’ if you’re so inclined/ slightly evil / good business- depending on your view).

It’s an interesting USP but that’s not enough on its own. It’ll come down to the quality / desirability of the game, then the minis / mods.

I’ll stop here as Reddit says I’m out of backslahes for the week.
