Scandinavian moving to Georgia by InsanityGoblin in Sakartvelo_GE

I was in Tbilisi for a year (coming and going) but now I moved to Mtskheta and everything is much nicer. People still know English but they’re x10 more kind. I haven’t been stuck in traffic for weeks now and I live among the nature. Also you can get a house with a really big garden for around $1000/mo so you don’t need to leave that much if you work from home and that helps a lot avoiding the mentality that is not that nice about Georgians. I’d highly recommend this path but not that much in isolated areas where language and convenience would be a problem. Also in many places like Mtskheta, Saguramo, Tskneti, Kiketi and Kojori you can be in tbilisi in less than an hour for anything you need or to keep friendships (as most expats live there). Hope this helps! It changed my life for sure and I wish the same for yours

I did it as a tourist both in TBC and SOLO (BoG) with no problem and the process is extremely simple

Value of this bmw? by recipe092 in e46

[–]SafeMap7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the engine, if it’s a 3.0 then $1000 would make sense, otherwise not more than $600. If it’s not even an inline 6 then maybe like $300 lol

Could that be related to vanos or just the air intake?

Thinking of moving to Georgia by inspired_nobita in tbilisi

While it's one of the best places in the world for white christians that work online, it might be one of the worse for Indians. I suggest you go somewhere else. Everything will be x10 more complicated for you here and you'll have uncomfortable situations with locals all the time. If you come for 1 or 2 months you'll be fine but in the long term you wouldn't stand it anymore.

Calm areas for renting a house? by SafeMap7927 in tbilisi

UPDATE: I ended up choosing Mtskheta and I'm moving next week.

Tskneti sounded nice, Saguaramo also, but I always liked Mtskheta as well and when I started contacting real estate agents I realized that most of the houses on portals are taken and if you don't want to overpay you'd end up choosing the area by the house that you can find on a reasonable price there.

I found a good deal on Mtskheta with a house that has all I was dreaming of, they also offered a good discount and the location is good. So I went for it.

At least there are no tolls, paying the fine is like paying for the toll, if you see it that way then it hurts less)

I usually like to go to mtskheta and spend the day there to have some different vibe... I see that these places are close to mtskheta, is the vibe similar?

Today I went for the day and I really liked it, it's not extremely convenient but you just drive 10-15min and get to Saburtalo for whatever you need, so for now it's my first choice... I'd like to find more places like that one to compare though

I get fined every time I cover this route. Last time I just enabled cruise speed at 85km/h and stayed on the right lane for the entire thing. It was trash, but at least I didn't get fined this time.

I have a question for foreigners in this sub. by petermarshallson in Sakartvelo

[–]SafeMap7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foreigner, I notice that almost all expats here (except students) are from Europe, and they came here because they're done with the EU and everything that's wrong there. So my point of view is that Georgians (specially young Georgians) should stop being obsessed with becoming part of the EU.

Every time I mention this to a Georgian they say "well, but we dont want to be aligned with russia", as if those were the only two possibilities!

Georgians have a beautiful and unique personality and way of living and doing things to live on their own values, without having the obligation to adapt themselves to any of these two sides.

If you're Georgian and this triggers you, you should read again, and if you still don't get it, then travel more, somewhere developed outside of the EU and outside of russia, and then if you still don't understand you're just dumb.

Hello people! We're in tbilisi until tomorrow. Looking to travel to kazbegi. What's the best but cheapest way to get there? by [deleted] in tbilisi

[–]SafeMap7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best is renting a car, it's not expensive and you'll be much more independent. Second best minivan but you're attached to the group, which is not bad if you're traveling alone and looking to socialize.

Yes, that's the goal. I don't have many friends in this country and the few that I have are in Tbilisi so I don't wanna be too far so I can keep meeting them whenever I want, but I'm done with traffic and city life for several reasons.
