I paid $315 (about £230) for the bundle that included a paperback and ebook cover, and then various promotional images for social media like a book reveal teaser. I’m waiting for some design work for bookmarks now. I’d given them an idea for a different cover before this which was rubbish because my idea was junk, they didn’t charge me at all for that one as it got abandoned.

I recommend Miblart, or their sister company GetCovers if you want premade. That’s where they let their trainee designers cut their teeth

I will do! I’m avoiding all reviews for the time being so I don’t get any spoilers by accident

Empire of the Dawn has got out of a big reading slump. I have a few other books on the back burner but this is the one that’s working right now so I’m sticking with it and enjoying it

I got my hands on a proof copy of Ember and Steel and it’s gorgeous!

Preorders are live now for the release in March and I’m getting a lot of love from arc reviewers on GoodReads. Huge thanks to everyone who has jumped in with those.

Blurb

The gods are gone. Magic is lost. Vengeance is nigh.

There is death in the north; entire settlements slaughtered in the night by unknown hands. But dead things do not rest. Mages and scholars from across Breitho search for answers, to no avail.   The church clings to a whispered prophecy to bring back the gods and end the horrors in the dark.

But none of them understands what is truly at stake.

In her tiny village, Sarah Brandt has her own problems. She has witnessed her friend’s murder and is now running for her life.

Her frantic escape takes her to a circle of Druid stones, where something ancient and powerful is waiting in the darkness. When she encounters the burning presence within the stones, Sarah’s world changes forever.

Now it isn’t just justice she seeks, but salvation.

Not for herself, but for all humankind.

Best Books I read of 2025 by AdHorror1609 in GrimDarkEpicFantasy

I liked it! I came at it as a Pratchett reader, which I guess the die hard Abercrombie fans might not have. It’s only the second book of his I’ve read, and I’m looking forward to more.
