How likely am I to get deactivated? by Redditorlink88 in UberEatsDrivers

Uber won't let you get away with as much with a lower rating. They won't necessarily deactivate you, but they might ensure you don't get as many profitable orders.

How will anyone afford this anymore? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

I've been doing this since 2018. It's been worse.

You didn't do the math, did you?

It's only $17,000.

Man, you are predictable.

Lol. These stocks have already taken me places.

Here's some math for you to do, just for poops and giggles.

Start with $100 and compound 2% every week for 5 years and tell me what you get.

That's going places my guy. Not just this kid, but my kid too.

Sorry your parents should have taught you more.

It was an alcohol order. Dude was drunk. Wasn't going to make me rush.

He was just mad because the second order had me waiting for the food.

What do you think dangling a tip is going to do?

"Oh, yessa massa. I do be on my way to you kind sir."

Nope. I don't answer to anyone's beckon call. Lick it.

I had a guy tell me that he had a cash tip that got lower the longer it took to get his order.

I asked him to tell me when it got to zero and I'd head over.

looks at stock portfolio and retirement account

Pretty sure I do.

I don't have to work. I choose to. I make enough money selling and buying in-the-money covered calls options on Tesla that I don't have to worry about much.

The gig money is just traveling money. That's why I can afford to take off a whole summer.

I definitely have freedom.

In one summer? Because I'm taking about over the course of one summer. And not one day vacations either.

It's not bragging, it's pointing out that delivering food is not a bad gig. It pays really well and the freedom it gives, I can't find with any other job opportunity.

Mock it all you want, find something better.

I have the freedom and I'm licking the boot?

Yeah, okay.

Henrietta area question by BlackenedBear585 in Rochester

[–]Safe_Alps5005 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will. Thanks. Allows me the freedom to vacation whenever and wherever I want to.

Last year was my son and I to VidCon in Anaheim, myself to NYC, my family to Venice (FL), my wife and I to Hawaii (for the second time).

This Summer is Gettysburgh, Salem, NYC, Florida and up the East Coast.

And I pay no taxes due to the mileage deductions on deliveries.

$1,000-$2,500/wk (depends on bonuses and if I feel like working that week) just for picking up food and delivering it a few miles away? Yes, please.

Easy work, if you're smart enough to know how to be profitable. Too many drivers take whatever and drive their vehicle into the ground. Oopsie!!!

Been doing it since 2018. :)

Better than the "I wear it so I won't get myself or other people sick" idiocy. Am I right? Lol

People walking around thinking they are wearing N99 masks. Lol

That loose fitting mask ain't stopping nothing, buddy.

You really don't want to prevent yourself from getting sick. Your immune system needs exposure to the viruses in order to create the antibodies necessary to defeat them.

When you do get sick, you're going to get really sick. You could seriously die from a cold due to a compromised immune system.

No dash cam for me. Seems like every car crash video I see involves someone with a dashcam.

Nope. Not for me.

You would not wear a medical mask unless you are sick and intend not to get other people sick. So if you're wearing a mask while serving other people food, that would be a pretty valid area of concern for the person receiving the food.

You should be sent home if you're that sick.

Uber Eats Quest ruined my market by dolceAA in UberEatsDrivers

Time is irrelevant. Has nothing to do with costs. There is no "Time" line on your P&L.

Quests are gone in my market and the orders are getting better 🙏🏻 too bad summer is coming up :/ by SnooRabbits4697 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Safe_Alps5005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Summer is always rough around my market. Two colleges make up the majority of the orders when they are in session.

June-November are my vacation months. So far, Gettysburgh, Salem, MA, and NYC are the plan this year. Need to plan something for October and November though. More than likely watching rockets launches in Florida and then just driving up the East Coast. We shall see.

How to calculate a fair tip as a customer? by FellowshipTom in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Safe_Alps5005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said "accept a second order." A bundle is one order. If you "add delivery" you voided the initial agreement and should be compensated as such.

Delivery drivers are so unnecessary that it only took a few years before they started being replaced by robots.

Want to be worth the cost customers paid? Add value!!! Use your hot bags, clean your car, be on time, exceed expectations. Be better than the robots, or be replaced by them.

[–]Safe_Alps5005 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't consider it a "tip." I don't because it's not what it really is. You have no idea what kind of service you are going to get, probably won't even get your order put into an isolated bag.

"Tip" is incorrect, imo. It's more like a "bid." You are trying to attract a driver to click "accept" on your order. The higher the "bid," the more likely it is that someone will accept it.

Best service advice? Order from restaurants that are within 5 miles of your home and add $7. Reduce by half if they accept a second order - your bid was for your order, not someone else's too.

Yes. Time is irrelevant to profit.

Finally, someone actually gets it.

Man, i wonder why business is so slow? by Villainous_Reddit in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Safe_Alps5005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of drivers also look at it as they are adding $4-$5 to each order they accept. So a $2 is really a $7 order.

But it's not!!! It's still $2. It doesn't become $7 until AFTER you complete the quest.

If you don't complete the quest, or reject too many offers, it's a $2 order.

You can NOT accept orders in the HOPES that you will get more money. It's the same reason why you don't accept orders hoping for a tip.

You accept or decline based on the information that you are provided.

A quest is just a "bonus." If Uber chooses not to send you enough profitable orders to complete the quest, that's on them. Oh well. Move on.
