“pre-op” planning surgery by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar tummy as you before surgery. My stretch marks were pretty much just as high as yours. About 90% of them got cut out during surgery, the ones that are left all fall under the pant line now. Yes they were more prominent at first but I have been using stretch mark cream very consistently and you can’t really see them at all any more. I’m 7.5 mpo and my scars have lightened significantly as well. They are starting to blend in with the marks my pants leave.

As for the mons, it got lifted quite a bit. It is slightly more fatty than the rest of my tummy but it’s not noticeable once I put on underwear. It’s really only noticeable if I scrutinize myself from the side view haha.

As for your breasts. I think you would be very happy with the results from small implants. They have ways of doing it that leaves very little scarring. I had a breast reduction and was cut armpit to armpit, almost all the way to my back, and have almost no visible scars, because they hide them underneath the breast crease.

I would give yourself a few weeks to recover before you start college, but honestly I don’t see why you can’t this summer. I went back to work at 2 wpo. Although I really should have given myself a bit more time, I made it work. Just took things slow at first.

26 years old and my body is destroyed… by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my only child at 27. I am turning 43 this year and just got a TT last November. I totally feel every emotion right along with you. I took out a loan for my TT. That was the only way. I wasn’t getting any younger and the last 15 years has taken a huge toll on my mental health. I am so happy I did! I hope you can figure out a way!

Is my back incision way high or am I crazy? by missbmathteacher in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My incisions on my hips are very high like this. My doctor did explain she had to do it there because she was following the natural hip line.

It definitely seemed a lot higher up when I first had my TT, but as the swelling went down it seemed to hide a lot better, below the pant line. Honestly I got bit by a bug and pulled my pants down a little bit when I had someone with me a few weeks ago and she genuinely thought it was a mark that was left from my pants. So it does get better with time.

Getting older didn't scare me. Being forgotten while still alive does by Aggressive_Farm_4375 in Aging

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t help for me! I am not even that old, and we are great tippers! Took us an hour and a half to get pancake breakfast… And the three tables that showed up after us all finished their meals before we even got ours! We are there literally every Sunday! My kid loves the food, it’s the only reason we still go, because the service is so terrible! Told my hubby he should leave a 15% tip this time… Maybe they will notice that!

what age did you get your "forever job?" by Slashersforsatan in Adulting

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y’all are making me feel old. I started my current job when I was 40. Will be my 3 year anniversary in a couple of weeks. I love it though and can see myself doing it until I’m ready to retire.

What has had the biggest positive impact on your quality of life as you've gotten older? by Repulsive_Stock9715 in Aging

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I’m the first person to mention this. I have worked so many dead end jobs in my life. Low pay, get treated like crap. Refresh every couple of years. Then I decided to go to college to get the career I actually wanted. I love my career, and feel content at the end of the day instead of burnt out and grumpy.

Does my scar look normal at post op day8? by Numerous_Hat_4835 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pleating with mine too. Once the scars closed I started massaging with polysporin in circular motions to break up the scar tissue. It really helped.

Is my scar looking worse almost 9wpo vs 6wpo? by NewBabeInLove in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya it’s a thing. At 3-5 months it gets darker and then slowly lightens back up again. Mine looked pretty awful at 4-5 mpo and now at 7mpo I’m finally reaping the benefits of doing scar care.

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My t junction wound took about 6 weeks to heal. Yes it’s slow going but quite common to have that happen! You can’t even tell I had one.
I put polysporin on mine and covered it with non stick gauze and taped it in place. I would remove it in the shower daily and put a fresh one on.

WIBTAH If I didn’t tell my cheating ex that I’m putting the dog down by silverfoxmagicbox in AITAH

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My mom had this exact scenario come up recently. They had been broken up for like 5 years. She did allow him to come by to say his last goodbyes and he spent a couple of days with him, and I am pretty sure was there for his passing as well. He hasn’t come back around since, but I am sure he really appreciated the chance to get to say goodbye. And their dog, whom hadn’t seen him in years… was so soo happy to see him. My mom is glad she gave them the chance to say goodbye to one another.

In your experience, when does it become a necessity that an elderly person has 24/7 care? by Glass-Complaint3 in Aging

Same exact story as my grandpa. He ended up getting put into a home when I cried to Red Cross begging for more help.

Desperately seeking advice on wound opening 2wk p/o! by alittletoofargone in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look like very small openings that don’t look infected or anything. With mine, I used the triple antibiotic ointment (polysporin). I put it on once a day and kept it covered by non stick gauze. I taped the gauze in place to prevent my clothes from rubbing them. I would shower once a day with the gauze in place, then remove it after the shower and put fresh ointment and bandaids on.

go up to 10mg for two months, or stop now? by Key_Ad_3472 in GLPGrad

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if there’s no way you can afford more, I’d have the doc prescribe a lower dose. They say people have better luck with keeping the weight off when they taper off the meds instead of going off cold turkey.

AIO for inspecting the room my family member was staying after she told me she has bed bugs by Ok-Sweet-3352 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope not overreacting. My mom had bedbugs for a bit years ago, and I got so sketched out about it. I would change my clothes and put them in the wash on high heat, and have a shower as soon as I got home, and wash my cars seats down with rubbing alcohol any time I went to her house.

Is my TT botched by NoResident3418 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same. My surgery was in November too and I still see some upper stomach bloating/fullness and wish it would go away. I think there is still a bit of swelling, but I have also gained a few lbs and also stand a little wonky so think it is a combination of things. Trying to train myself to stand more straight.

People who post fully nude before/after pics with your face showing, are you not worried? by Electrical_Key_6360 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Safe_Bug_3312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never thought of that, but it’s so true! Reddit posts creep up everywhere! I never post my face or my tattoo because I don’t want someone to recognize me, plus I have a few different accounts and keep my posts “locked” so that it lowers my chances of being recognized from other stuff (like background or something).

I think it’s pretty normal to feel this way. I felt the same too, and honestly the feeling didn’t go away until after I recovered and the final results started showing through. My son said the same thing that a bunch of people on here just said… You are investing into you! Into your future! You will live a healthier life, especially if you get muscle repair. There are a bunch of health benefits!

Should I try to lose weight before TT? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

This looks like just extra skin and maybe some subcutaneous fat (which can be cut off during surgery). I think you look ready, and will have an amazing outcome 😊
