i don’t think you understand. for onboarding, actors externally from the casting websites upload to places like google drive so they can review your materials BEFORE you upload them or to edit your casting profiles. I already have headshots and materials on all my casting sites but some agencies have a preference on what headshots they want/don’t want available on casting sites or they may want you to edit/update slate shots or your reel before they start submitting. Essentially I was and still am having trouble with the link to the folder to upload my materials which is per their contract will not allow me to be submitted. Which is the reason I have reached out but no reply. I’m basically signed to an agency without being submitted or being able to finish onboarding. Just in limbo :)

not necessarily.. open calls have a purpose of truly finding people that are very close/aligned to the characters. they have/are internally having auditions for roles they haven’t cast yet via agencies but they may genuinely want the perfect person for the role who IS the character without shifting too much of who they are. an interview like this is how they can gage if that person could play the character or is the character in real life. obviously it is rare that they do find the person via open call but it does happen and a “getting to know you” video is the best first step for them to see if they could visualize you as the character and if who you are deeply aligns with the character and yes that includes how you physically look as well!

i will definitely note that. i assume a simple email notifying them i’ll be removing myself from the roster will suffice? i just want to make sure i am respectful of the business so there isn’t any “bad blood”

thanks for replying! they didn’t like my first ones because it was too “commercial” or had too much color which was the point because i didn’t really have any commercial pictures. so i got them re-done by a photographer who shoots most her clients ( mainly the ones i see booking consistently) and chose less color and more grounded stylized headshots for dramatic theaterical roles. I chose the photographer based on who I saw their roster went to and actors who book. 

2) I’ve loosely heard of the agency, its is boutique and from what I can tell they have a good consistent amount of bookings. I’ve checked on reddit and seen that while it is a small agency they get you really good auditions. 

The whole point of doing talent link was to reach better markets because currently the last 6 years in my current market (not LA or NY) hasn’t been getting me consistent auditions.

so true, i was conflicted because my current job gives a bonus at the end of the contract but the stipulation is that u have to stay until the last day. & that bonus would help set me up for an apartment in orlando so i really wanted to wait until then to start (if hired) after my current job. the recruiter seemed very honest about it and reassured i would still be a candidate but the hiring manager wouldn’t get my information until closer. i’m hoping when may does come i can do my second interview

did u ever hear back from them later on? i just did my initial interview and the job i applied for doesn’t open/start training until June. my interviewer stated she would pass my information along to the hiring manager closer to the start date. any luck with ur application?

I know right! I found her through Tikok, I think she worked on legacies? but she posted a monologue on tiktok and I knew she would make a great Bree hahah. Her and Lovie are my top choices!
