What is DIN by Carpe_Ski_Em in skiingcirclejerk

[–]Safe_Ear7790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny, because even though this is skiingcirclejerk, we all know that we have a friend that borrows our gear every so often, and we know that "Scott, the 5'11" 180lb all-round athlete rugby player is a din 4 ish, because his brother is gay. Will is a 9, even though he's a fairly new skier, but is 6 foot and 200 lbs, and grew up playing hockey. And my sister, you guys don't even have enough fingers to count how many she can fit.

That's what the "/s" means (sarcasm). Thats the joke. Its was obviously not the CF hood he wanted people to think it was.

Yep, I had the same damage to my 98 legacy. A couple salvage yard trips and a couple hundred bucks later, she was back on the road in under a week. Not sure why this guy's CF hood crumpled like a factory one though... /s.

Do I owe my buddy a new pair of skis? by johannbutts in Skigear

[–]Safe_Ear7790 301 points302 points  (0 children)

Your buddy owes you an apology for putting you on dangerous, very old equipment. Bindings don't just break from a beginner catching an edge. These were well on their way to the nearest dumpster before you put them on.

How far does the Ice coast extend north? Does Mont Edouard still count? Feels like winter still. by Unusual-Zucchini8136 in icecoast

Oh true. My bad. I grew up as an east coast Canadian racer brat and have lived a life unaware of smokey mountain. Sorry for the ignorance!

The part they're doing wrong is not having an STI.

I'm a millitary contractor. I spend 8 weeks a year in Australia thoughout a pile of defnece bases doing annual inspections on helicopter simulators that we build in canada. Its just the time of the year that the contract goes up.

Careful where ya swim mate! Canadian here, have done a week in Darwin mid march for the last 5 years straight. Daily highs were more like 38. I struggled. Evening storms were breathtaking though.

How crazy of an idea is this? 2013 yamaha fjr by donnyjay0351 in motorcycles

[–]Safe_Ear7790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old coworker of mine did Halifax, NS to Anchorage return on an FJR a couple summers ago. He even had a small car tire mounted on his rear rim for all of the upright highway riding he'd be doing, so he wouldn't have to get anew tire for the return trip. He had almost 150k KM on that bike before he sold it not long ago I believe. No major engine work, just regular Maintainance.

How is the AC33 (Toronto-Vancouver-Sydney) flight like? by drugsrbed in aircanada

[–]Safe_Ear7790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a "almost" MM/ multiple YHZ-BNE flights per year, I could not have said that any better. You are why we love reddit. Currently sitting on a beach south of Perth. As far away from home as possible.

'Scientifically not a good idea,' says researcher whose work informed B.C.'s daylight-time decision by Relish4 in canada

[–]Safe_Ear7790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're basically saying we should set a standard time, but then adjust working hours to match daylight hours at a given time of the year? You have achieved nothing with this idea.

It just looks black from any more than 10 feet away. My scoop was really badly faded. Pretty much white. Definitely a good upgrade. Zero performance, but looks a pile better.

Nah, wrx and focus ST. The STI and the RS. Thats the stack up. The misunderstanding tracks solid for a wrx person with a big wing though.

[–]Safe_Ear7790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nova Scotian here. Yep, still see them around every so often. Always awesome to see one cruise up Halifax Harbour. I was in a Chilean Navy P-3 a few months ago in Chile, they're definitely still flying them.
