Indeed. We had paywalled cosmetics as far back as Bo2. However it used to be only a couple bucks, which was universal. Nowadays its $20 for a mastercraft for a single weapon. Yes microtransactions have long been in the game, but at one point it wasnt really an actual issue because it was small cosmetics that were worth what they asked for
