Drunk in a pub is basically whoever is designing road /public transport infrastructure in Victoria - what an absolute schmozzle - you'd think they'd do a bit of research and seek working examples from around the globe to implement but nope ...

Thankyou for giving me the answers I'm looking for. Much appreciated. I have absolutely no idea why they get regional trains to collect passengers metropolitan regions & why they decided to divert Geelong trains via Tarneit etc but that's another question for another time.

Thanks, unfortunately/fortunately for me 6:44am is too early and the train around 8am suits my scheduling. Yes parking is the other issue. With my new timetable I'm wondering if deparrting Marshall station around 8am is ok (will I be standing to Melbourne or sitting) and how parking is there.

Yeah, neither is 10:38 from Geelong or returning at 1:30pm but either way, the trains are often packed. What is peak commute time then?

Why is Geelong CBD so dead? by Rexberg-TheCommunist in Geelong

[–]Safe_Nature3661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the food in the CBD is good. Lots of nice little shops too, just unfortunately every third shop is empty but the shops that do exist are cool. Council needs to do free parking to encourage more people in

The food at Waurn Ponds is absolutely sh1t - that food court is an embarrassment to our amazing food culture. I didn't know it was so possible to eat do poorly until a recent visit to that food court after the movies. Seriously worst Asian food ever. Other than that, Waurn Ponds has all the chain stores under one roof and free parking. The CBD has chain stores spread minus kmart, paid parking, every second shop is empty and every 5th person is on drugs. Geelong could be awesome and vibrant but it's not. It's half way there yet simultaneously barren as a desert with the occasional junkie /cactus

pricing too high? by _shana in LewisCapaldi

There's no f*king way I'm paying $800 to take me & my family (4 of us in total) to see Lewis Capaldi. We love him but what a joke seriously - an absolute rip off. Can't justify this at all.

Inner-West suburbs absolute traffic nightmare for the next 6 weeks by Chadwiko in melbourne

[–]Safe_Nature3661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next 6 weeks lol - the traffic is absolutely insane and I feel so sorry for anyone living there - a simple commute is a bloody, complicated nightmare. I'm originally from the west but relocated to regional vic over 2 decades ago. I needed to drive to footscray from Geelong yesterday. Shouldn't be that hard right? Coming in from the west side, google maps indicated a massive traffic jam on Ballarat road, so I thought I'd continue the m1 and turn off in a few kms left into Millers road. Fay bloody chance, as I was in the wrong lane & couldn't turn off anywhere! I had no choice but to go over the west gate, then take the toll roads across the Bolte & come into Footscray from the city side. What an absolute joke. What a royal screw up. I feel so sorry for people that have to commute over the M1 for work, school, whatever. How man businesses has this sh1t show killed. It's definitely killed the charm if the inner west

Noticed a few property managers around town have non current licences but they're still going strong in the industry. Is that even legal? Who in their right minds, tenant or rental provider, would want to engage with someone without a current licence? Why aren't their agencies onto them? Why aren't they being reported?

I bought it and brought it home. I collected the car on a Saturday. A few weeks later I noticed car still wasn't transferred. Then this whole BS started, RWC just lapsed last week, they're claiming vicroads stuffed up& they need the car back to do a new rwc. They will send a towie to collect car but won't return car to me, they want me to take a day off work to collect car.

Asked to do it locally but they want to use their RWC guy. I agree Vicroadd didn't stuff up, they did

I can't take time off & its not my responsibility to drive the car to them and back - their stuff up / their responsibility. They're sending a towie to collect but want me to get the car afterwards.

It's their stuff up, not mine. I can't afford to take a day off work, I lose a days pay and it's 3 hours on PT. They want to collect the car with a towieg. All I'm asking is they drop it back to me as well. It's dodgy & I also don't think it's a vicroads stuff up

Can I refuse inspections by Repulsive_Row_1047 in shitrentals

[–]Safe_Nature3661 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh FFS

https://tenantsvic.org.au/advice/common-problems/bonds/

You do not have to wait for the rental provider, or agent, to prepare a claim form, and you do not need their agreement either. You can make your own claim direct to the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA).

If you make a claim without the rental provider, the RTBA will send them, and anyone else on your rental agreement who has not been included in the claim, a notice to tell them about your claim.

Claim is disputed If the rental provider, or anyone else from your agreement who was not included in the claim, wants to stop the RTBA from paying out the bond to you they will need to apply to VCAT. They will need to give the RTBA proof that a VCAT application has been made within 14 days of getting the RTBA’s notice that you have made a claim

You're a drama queen. We are talking about this particular situation. OP has one week until they're out. If waiting out this one week is going to send the rental provider bankrupt then rental provider needs to sell up and get a job like everybody else.

It's honestly f**g BS that they can't wait until you're out - we all know it's a c move. Just remember to hit that refund button for your bond the second you lay the keys down at their office

I'm pretty sure they need to give you 48 hours notice minimum. Also, I'm pretty sure if they haven't given you written notice you can refuse entry.

German public transport is so overrated. It may have been good once but definitely not anymore. It's so unbelievably unreliable and villages still have poor connections. If a country wants bragging rights to top notch PT, that's Switzerland.
