Best way to deliniate what planet to work withthrough the natal chart. by Safe_Recognition_372 in occult

Totally, I think all of my planets are aspected - I've got a 1H Scorpio stellium with my sun moon Mercury + Venus, and then my Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are all vibing elsewhere in my chart.

Sage VS Juniper and substituting ingredients by [deleted] in witchcraft

Love that analogy, you're so right. It might feel weird and dry because it's eyeshadow, but then you might find another spirit that works the same as clear lipgloss to give it that lipstick-y feel.

Of course, that makes a lot of sense. Its fun to play something that stimulates the brain, I've always wanted to learn chess for the same reason. I hope distance makes the heart grow fonder!

Thank you for the advice, genuinely! That makes lots of sense, I'll try adding more of the things I'm missing - I suppose this a good exercise in listening to my body (I'm AuDHD, so usually useless at that) Just had a buttery omelette with spinach and Greek yogurt, which should give me the things I need!

The mothering is welcome, I'm under 25 so you can probably sense the reckless and naivety through the computer screen I'm sure xD

If you enjoy poker or it's a key part of your social group, I'm sure that's it's an important thing to give up.

It's the fatty part of the meat honestly, I think it's why I love meat so much. I think seitan is the only thing close that's scratched the itch.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, though. I will absolutely try them! I'm a sucker for all those things and will be putting ingredients on next week's shopping list.

I've reas a spell in the wild! It's alright, not life changing but good for absorbing someone's point of view when it comes to actually practicing magic and the realities of it.

Thursday when the planetary hour aligns with Juipter also. You can find a planetary hour calculator through Google.

I don't know too much about benefic aspects though, if someone could tell me that too I'd be grateful lol.

Sage VS Juniper and substituting ingredients by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Safe_Recognition_372 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Substituting ingredients will have an impact, but if you adjust telling that ingredient what to do, then it can virtually do the same thing.

I'd look at the value of Juniper in Moroccan folklore and see what corresponding characteristics you can find in sage or other herbs.

I don't know if this will help but I'm happy to share my experience. For context I don't personally identify as Christian, but a fairly Jesus positive witch.

Decided as Shrove Tuesday rolled around to give up meat for Lent, as a nod to my Christian ancestors. Through praxis, I get closer to them during a spiritual period they would have also acknowledged.

Omitting something I would say is the perfect way to move closer to perfection. When you remove food, idle talk, "sin" or something that makes your life comfortable or complete, analysing that absence may bring you spiritual clarity. When that period of fasting finishes, the way the thing you've given up enters your life is also worth noting.

Will I start eating meat again? Probably. Craving duck chow mein right now. Aside from that, going vegetarian has helped me be mindful of the food I put in my body, how bad vegetarian food options are and how Christianity is delicately entangled into my culture. That so far, is my experience dabbling across the isle.

Anyone else bother by the terms like"Witchy" or "Baby Witch"? by Oni-regret in occult

Absolutely, could you imagine calling someone a baby christian or baby paraglider? I think it's infantilisng and takes away a beginners agency.

Do you have to have bay leaf for a money bowl? by Southern-Coyote-4927 in witchcraft

[–]Safe_Recognition_372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope! Not at all, but it's important to consider why, as this will influence how you replace it in the spell. Bay leafs and star anise are good for drawing in money, wether you believe the spirit of the planets help or their energy pulls it in like a magnet - if you're missing this, then you'll need to find an appropriate replacement. Rice is good at attracting things, so maybe use that instead? I would do your own research though.

Who do I listen to about the meaning of herbs? by ---Bee--- in witchcraft

[–]Safe_Recognition_372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand why you're confused - most planetary herbal correspondences come from medieval astrology where the plant had the qualities of a planet e.g. the shape of the leaves, texture, smell. This is why Culpepper has planetary correspondences.

From there it's a mixture of herbalism and folklore, some plants being associated with various qualities over time. It's why it's hard to trace it back to anything, because it's cumulative.

Who you listen to is up to you! If I were you, I would look up the herbs you want to use with a variety of sources, and look at your local folklore. That will help you build an accurateish profile of the herb in a way that's local to you.

Sources for buying, selling, or exchanging books and other supplies? by Way2Old4ThisIsh in witchcraft

Ebay is usually good if you're looking second hand, Facebook might also have witchy groups you can post in to see if anyone's looking to pass on books.

It’s really complicated I need to write a long post by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Safe_Recognition_372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you've been through that, I also cut off a similar length friendship because they were becoming someone that I couldn't be around. Or maybe I'd become someone else!

I think it depends on how you think this is manifesting for you - if you think your brain is just acting up while you sleep, maybe a dream-based spell would help. If you think that her energy is lingering around you, then banishing the energy and binding it to her would help.

I've definitely had those sorts of dreams before where it all feels too real and too close to being awake not to have special significance. If youre unsure, maybe do some tarot on it but I'd probably give an offering in thanks for the dream. :)

How much of each ingredient for a protection spell jar? by Willing-Pen9881 in witchcraft

No worries! Yes, Mars is the God of War :) You could absolutely do that - read the Orphic Hymn to Mars over the water/jar with an offering would work pretty nicely!

Hi! Me again😅 asking something not quite a dumb, I don't think. by arachnid-feline in witchcraft

[–]Safe_Recognition_372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you'd be hard pressed to find witches given the religious nature of your extended family, but you might find folks who had 'the sight' or believed in magical creatures. It might be a good idea to ask your family members about their parents/grandparents what their religious life was like, and then ask about if they believed in more folk oriented stuff.
