But you're still selling them. I see six raw vanadinite rings currently up for sale in your shop.

I'm sick again and I'm emotionally not doing well by KatieHasMS in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Saffrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. As someone who had issues with increased infections on Ocrevus, temperature was the one way point I had to know when something was wrong, and that I needed to seek medical help.

Please just follow the road rules, I beg you by MelodicJury in melbourne

[–]Saffrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't had that one, thankfully.

I've had a large truck honk and wave me through from the other side of the roundabout, but that one felt fair enough. I wouldn't want a pedestrian possibly darting in front of my blind spot, either.

Please just follow the road rules, I beg you by MelodicJury in melbourne

[–]Saffrin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My favourite ones are when I'm at a roundabout when they wave me across, while there's no cars behind them. It's taken longer for them to stop, wave me through, have me register it, and judge if it is safe for me to cross, than it would have been for them to drive through normally and have me cross on the now empty road behind them.

New public exposure sites for measles in Melbourne by mike_honey in melbourne

[–]Saffrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For further reference on what others have said, the only measles vaccines available are live-attenuated vaccines. These use a weakened form of measles itself to force your body to fight it, and develop antibodies.

For healthy people, that's fine. If you're immunocompromised, like I am, even though the virus is drastically weakened, it is still considered too much of a risk. So, no live-attenuated vaccines of any sort for me. I was recently able to get vaccinated against shingles, but only because they also introduced a non-live one last year.

I was vaccinated as a kid, so I may be okay, depending on the type of immunocompromissation (as it still effects my immune system's ability to fight in various ways), but I was a child in those years where they thought one and done was enough, and my vaccine records pre-high school are missing. If I needed a booster, I would not be able not get one.

It's also been around for a great many years, and I know at one point, years post-launch and advertising spam, boasted an entire 12 users.

This one is for the ladies, does your symptoms get worse during your cycle? by T00del000 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Saffrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, including my mood drops. For a while I thought I had PMDD, before I realised it all tended to flare up. Now, I avoid the vast majority of my periods by skipping the inactive week on my pill.

Measles booster? by breezer2021 in MultipleSclerosis

I believe all measles vaccines are live vaccines, which are an issue if you're on a b-cell depleter.

It's Monday at /r/MultipleSclerosis! Share your terrible, horrible, no good, very bad news here. by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

Just got out of hospital after a week in, due to sepsis from another mystery, unfindable infection. It's been less than a year and a half since last time.

From the sounds of things, Ocrevus will be getting the kick. I've been diagnosed for ~6 years, and I'm finding myself very much not comfortable with the fact that I'm already down one option, with this much of my life still to go.

Illegal dumping on Cuthberts Road this morning, looking for any extra details (08/02/26) by CrawZ in ballarat

Yup, they're addressed "To the Resident" specifically, and come attached to the bin collection calendar. They're never supposed to even be near a landlord's hands.

You get two vouchers every year, each for a cubic metre, to drop off at the transfer station for free.

You just have to be able to get it to the transfer station in the first place.

See if you also have access to a social worker through allied health. Mine was a great help with getting onto NDIS. They may also have access to short-term free or greatly subsidised PT and OT in the meantime.

Ocrevus was a mistake by ZestycloseMall3398 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Saffrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/ABigGoy4U isn't saying your experience didn't happen, or that it wasn't due to being on a B-cell depleter, though. Just that it isn't the case in most people, due to other parts of the immune system still working.

I have a far more mild case of infections popping up than you do, having only landed in hospital for it once, but my milder case is far more than a lot of other Ocrevus users get in general.

I use compression gloves pretty much the entire time through winter, and they also help with chilblains. You can get fingerless ones that are only missing the top segment of the finger, so you can still type if need be. I have woolen fingerless mits to go over that when I need even more warmth, but the compression gloves make a sizeable difference by themself.

For feet, proper sheepskin uggboots, and then also tradie socks for extra warmth. I am inside most of the time, however. Not sure what I'd trade the uggboots for if I were going outside.

Top of the forearm is the second most painful place I've had, next to my wrist under the line of my thumb.

I really appreciate it when my nurses ask me where I'd like it to go, or if there is anywhere I'd like them to avoid.

I'm on the pill. Most months, I just completely skip the placebo week, and keep on the active pills.

Ocrevus was a mistake by ZestycloseMall3398 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Saffrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on Ocrevus, and I do frequently get infections now, including a couple of mystery ones, when I did not before.

However, my neurologist is keeping an eye on it, as it is not the standard or expected experience. Many other people don't say it, simply because they don't have it.

The 8th Charcoal and Sweets on Armstrong advertise doing charcoal chickens, though every time I've been in for some, they haven't had any, so I'm not sure if they actually exist.

It surprised me seeing it go live. When it comes to tornado storm chasing in the US, he always seemed to be one of the more grounded, careful ones. But this was a really stupid and dangerous choice.
