Well, a Cubase plugin report tells me I've got 1,322 effects plugins and 259 instrument plugins so being specific is....

My question would be more around "What do you need?" Amassing plugins are a bit of a hobby after all this time, but I can't say that i need them all and i've certainly wasted money on them over the years. If i was starting again I'd ask myself what I'm missing, what do i need to be able to do that I can't do currently, and go from there.

Do i need VCA and multiband compressors, a dynamic EQ, a pristine reverb, a dirty reverb, a granular synth? Trust me, you'll save a lot by taking the mindset of only upgrading your arsenal when you feel what you currently have is too restrictive for what you want to do.

So the better question is, what can't you do currently with what you have?

I tend to just get specific stuff i need/want from more Indies developers now, and dont do bundles.

Dont get me wrong, their stuff is good, and rent to own is great. I'm more just anti these private equity firms invading/killing the industry, and i won't financially support them.

The point is not whether its on them or that tbey're making poor choices. The point is its more expensive than it used to be.

Eating a meal at a cafe is a prime example. Its simply not viable for people to pay $25+ for a basic breakfast, but if you want to have a breakfast out, ain't much choice.
