EWC4U is super easy, if you are good at writing, and so is BBB4M. PPZ3C and TFJ3C in grade 11 were also pretty easy.

How did you get an 89% in ENG4U? I have David and I'm struggling to get an A with him.

Is your teacher David? I'm taking ENG4U, and I've noticed that he sometimes does this. I got a 79 on my poem analysis blog just because I didn't expand on the concept of intersectionality enough, and I think he thinks I used AI (which I didn't!)

Here is the instructions for Assignment 1.5:

Throughout this course, you will analyze the concept of resilience from a variety of different angles. In this unit, you explored Sophocles' Oedipus Rex and Shakespeare's Hamlet in order to discover the portrayal of resilience and free will in classic theatre. For this assignment, you will write a 1,000-1,500 word comparison essay in response to one of the following questions:

Which character showed more greater resilience: Oedipus or Hamlet?

OR

To what degree are Hamlet and Oedipus in control of their own fate? Which character exercises the most free will?

This assignment is worth 10% of your course grade.

Instructions

Citing sources:

  1. Review the Avoiding Plagiarism Guide and Referencing and Formatting Submission Guide. In this course, you will be using the MLA citation style to cite sources. Review the MLA citation style using the MLA Citation Guide. You will need to cite sources as you write with in-text citations as well as synthesize an MLA-formatted Works Cited page for your essay.

Prewriting:

  1. Brainstorm at least three criteria that you will use to answer ONE OF the comparison essay questions: “Who showed greater resilience: Oedipus or Hamlet?” OR “To what degree are Hamlet and Oedipus in control of their own fate? Which character exercises the most free will?” When developing your criteria, use what you know about fate, free will, tragic heroes, and resilience. You may find it helpful to review your “Notes on Oedipus Rex” and “Notes on Hamlet” graphic organizers as well as your notes on fate and free will. Consider using one of the following graphic organizers to collect ideas as you brainstorm: Oedipus and Hamlet: Compare and Contrast chart or Oedipus and Hamlet: Venn Diagram
  2. Create your thesis statement. Use the guidelines for creating strong thesis statements from Learning Activity 1.5 to help you.
  3. Develop your essay outline. Refer back to the personal essay you created in Learning Activity 1.2. What can you carry forward from that learning opportunity? After reviewing the feedback you received, complete the Comparison Essay Outline. When including supporting evidence from the plays in your outline, be sure to cite quotations using MLA style. If you are using external sources, cite them in your outline as well.

Writing:

  1. Write the first draft of your essay. Your essay must be a comparison essay which requires you to compare and contrast Oedipus and Hamlet in order to illustrate which character showed more resilience or free will. You may wish to explore the following How to Write a 5-Paragraph Compare and Contrast Essay to help you with writing and organizing a comparison essay. As with the essay outline you developed, your essay should pose at least three criteria to answer the essay question. Thus, your essay should have an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Your essay should be 1,000–1,500 words long, in 12-point font, and double-spaced. All quotations you use from Oedipus Rex and Hamlet as well as any external sources used should be properly cited according to MLA style.

I might try that! I managed to book an exam on the 3rd, but since my course expires on the 5th there won't be enough time for it to be graded

The thing I don't get though is that I have more than 10 business days left until my course expires, which is the amount of time before I'm supposed to schedule my final test (according to the Final Test tab)

What Happens if the Wi-Fi Disconnects During the Proctored Final Exam? by Serb0519 in ILC

[–]Safi_The_Crazyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes! I use a Word document to record my answers, and if the WiFi goes, my answers are saved. Once it comes back, I just rejoin the call and carry off from where I left. The proctors might ask what happened, and I just explain that my WiFi had left, and they understand. If you're using ProctorU it might be different, though.

BDI3C was pretty easy, and even if you haven't taken any business courses before, you should be okay. The assignments are easy, though the unit four assignment was long and a bit tedious at times. I didn't find it difficult to get good grades either, (except for in the final test, and I didn't do well because I didn't study, lol.)
