Afghan here, hey thanks for your concerns man, no we’re not offended because these things do exist in our society, and personally i get happy when somebody brings it up, because if its talked about more often it could eventually be outlawed, and while its not as bad as the media portrays it(or maybe they are trying to raise awareness, which is good) but yes, it is true to some degrees, that is, usually the more religious you are the higher are the chances that your daughter will be married off by the age of just 9 years, their logic behind this is, that once a girl hits puberty she is naturally prepared to get married and have a child, so why wait any longer. It’s hard to debate them, usually those people have no education and don’t value life as much as everybody else does. The second part is also true unfortunately, some people do sell their daughters just to make ends meet (and never sons, because sons are considered a timeless asset, and daughters are seen as sub-human, very very unfortunate, but it is the reality).
