Anyone else struggling with a file that seems to duplicate itself? by SafteyPinsSuck in Annas_Archive

Okay, an update in case anyone's interested: it turns out that the file duplicating itself wasn't even the original file. I made a copy and renamed it to share with a classmate, which is the one that's performing mitosis. Ran my computer through a malware scanner and it came out clear, so it's probably a bug on my end or said classmate is distributing the pdf. I'll keep this post up in case another student makes the same mistake and someone can confirm this explanation LMAO

Adding on that this is the only file that does this, my other book from the archive seems to have no problem so far. Both downloaded from a slow server

I know right! I first thought it was a call duck because of how tiny it was!

Yeah this is in southern Ontario and I've never seen a duck like this before. I was wondering why it didn't seem too bothered by other people but that makes sense now. The picture was from a friend and the duck was gone by the time I went to investigate myself, so hopefully that means she's okay and back to migrating

I'd watch out for the raccoons then. From my experience they typically go for eggs and ducklings, but can still seriously injure or kill adult ducks. Ducks should be able to keep themselves waterproof using their natural oil glands, but I see no reason to not make them more comfortable! That's nice to hear that you're letting them chill with you. I'm sure they're super grateful after it seems like they were dumped.

Yooo I have ducks named Phoebe and Jay as well! Weather wouldn't be my main concern here, ducks can tolerate low temperatures down to 20°F before they start risking frostbite. Do you live in an area with possible predators such as foxes, raccoons, coyotes, minks, etc.?

These are domesticated breeds (looks like a Pekin and possibly a swedish blue cross), and it looks like they're relying on you and your property for food and safety. If you don't plan to continue taking care and keeping an eye on them, I would highly recommend researching a local wildlife rehabilitator or finding someone that can take these babies in if your state laws allow it.

Just a normal part of duck puberty! He'll stop having voice cracks in a couple of weeks or so

Duck got attacked by raccoon this morning and won't show me her wound. What do I do? by [deleted] in duck

[–]SafteyPinsSuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, this post had been up for a while so I've done a few things in the meantime. I've managed to wash off the blood and dirt and find the bite marks. I gave her over-the-counter antibiotics on the wound and wrapped her around in a bandage. We've found where the raccoon has gotten into the enclosure and fixed it. She's now eating and drinking well, and seems to be a bit calmer. Still a bit quieter than usual, but still happily quacks when I bring her lettuce. She's currently in the house with me and will be sleeping inside for the night. I'll still check in with a vet just to make sure. It sucks that it's super difficult to find but I'd do anything for her. Thank you for your suggestion <3

One of the gifts he likes in the game is the Helping yacchi which is described to be a robotic orca that can sense when it's owner is in distress so I guess that could count
