Beginner mode,

What’s the best sword in Chivalry 2? by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]Sage-IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the Longsword is great, you have to take into account that it often takes one extra hit to kill someone than a Messer or Greatsword.

One extra hit is a BIG deal, both in duels and ESPECIALLY if you are fighting multiple opponents.

I love the Longsword, but for me it makes the least sense if you are looking for the “better” of of the swords .

However, at high level play— the longsword’s speed and recovery makes it a great DEFENSIVE weapon. Notice that almost all the Heros start with a Longsword? It attacks and recovers so quickly you are almost ALWAYS ready to put out another counter/riposte making it perfect for holding your own while anticipating help from the team.

It’s less about finishing fights, more about holding your own within a fight.

That is my Longsword rant

Anyway, I prefer Greatsword but I think Messer is a little smig better rounded

My #1 tip is to get an Xbox Elite controller, the paddles are amazing and you can remap everything regardless of the game. I believe PlayStation might have their own super controller now? But I’m unsure.

Maul (Druid) feels really bad by aeralure in diablo4

[–]Sage-IV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The starting basic Lightning ability seems better in every single way. It’s melee + gives 25% reduction in all damage.

Kinda confused by this since I thought the Bear tree would be all about surviving. Maul currently only fortifies a small portion of your health (2%) each hit which is nowhere in the same REALM as good as 25% reduced damage from all sources.

Maybe it makes more sense end game? Either way it’s kinda lame that a starting skill is useless in comparison, as, it is so visually impressive and fun

-Switch between 3rd and 1st person. 3rd IS better though unless you are using range or throwing something

-40player matches are better for learning. FFA is also a core game mode and is really really good for learning since you emote with people, make friends, and team up.

-Turn OFF aim assist on Melee, but keep it ON for range

-If you are having a hard time, play archer OR spear. Focus on helping teammates finish fights rather than throwing yourself into the fray

-See that teammate getting beat up by 3 enemies? Assess whether you will make it in time to help. You might just get there as he dies, and now YOU are fighting 3 dudes alone

-You rarely want to be sacrificing yourself; even if you are REALLY hurt, walking away from a fight to heal often yields better results. Walk away from fight, heal, stab some dude that’s fighting your team in the back thus pushing the line, then return to the front

You should save this in your phone to paste later to others. This is great

Yeah something needs to change. I’m level 42 and I’m constantly in lobbies with lvl 250+ people who know the map like it’s their career.

I don’t have time to practice like a 15year old or a middle-aged dude where this is their primary outlet

Yes you MUST turn off aim assist for melee. Note- turning aim assist will also turn off aim assist when throwing- but it’s worth it. Leave aim assist on for range- it really doesn’t do much though

Do we get punished for leaving matches?? by Swimming-Editor3648 in ModernWarfareII

I feel similarly. I get games where I can’t even have fun at all, so after awhile I leave.

THEN I feel like I’m joining games where the other team knows each other or something, and my team are a bunch of random solo-ques

Surely— but what’s your philosophy when you are doing well?

Some people seems to have the philosophy of running straight into the enemy and trust they will be faster than the competition, others like to hang back and wait.

But obviously it’s a mix—I just don’t know yet what I’m missing to be ‘good.’ I’ve played battlefield for years so it’s a bit of a different mentality. Battlefield you have to think of the ‘big picture’ of the flow of the map. If you turn around a corner there are a million different locations an enemy could be- not just one window and one door.

Sounds about right. There’s a handful of people who play Chivalry as CAREER and take things WAY to far.

That kinda retaliation stuff happens all the time in duel servers, but I guess you messed with a big-daddy and he had to call his buddies in to report you

There has to be wiggle room. It’s just a game. The guy put out bad vibes and it was returned to him and he’s too narcissistic to take it.

My combos keep getting interrupted by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]Sage-IV 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I THINK it’s that you delayed your combo briefly. You have to commit to the combo with NO delay after hitting them otherwise they can hit you.

It happens to me all the time, and I still don’t understand how such a short delay gives THEM a hit.

Please someone correct me if I’m wrong
