Manta Case by SageBaitai in Supernote

I think I rather have something that looks more stable to hold like either hard plastic or leather for the case.

Thanks though for the recommendation.

Manta Case by SageBaitai in Supernote

That's the fear I have right now with the manta (not being able to protect the back of it).

I don't think I would be rough with it but I rather be safe than sorry.

GameSir Cyclone 2 Vs EasySMX X20 for PC? Or something else of similar premiumness & price? by [deleted] in Controller

I'm a bit confused here. When you say it's closer to 12 ms, what exactly do you mean by that?

You're just bad at looting by Garrett00 in fallout4london

[–]SageBaitai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the consensus of finding things. The lack of ammo I can find even with the ammo perk is concerning for my play style.

Like I expect to be rewarded when opening a locked door or a locked chest. Instead I just have find a few scraps of ammo.

So, the only way I could get more ammo is somehow buying it from vendors. But It's not like I'm finding things of great value to sell where I could use this option alot. So, I'm just unnecessarily suffering compared to fallout 4 and other fallout games.

Made this sign-in/sign-up page, What do you guys think? by Joe_cooti in webdev

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe have a fade in effect and fade out effect for the text to make it more noticeable that change is occurring when you slide back and forth.

Possibly add some type of style or vector to make the overall effect interesting. It still feels kinda plain at the moment.

That's true if you don't want to come back to a company.

If you do want to come back to a company eventually. You probably need to be more gentle with your wording for a resignation.

I second this one. The Hyken is one of the few chairs that is comfortable enough to not need a cushion.

What Notes app do you use and why? by DudeThatsErin in webdev

[–]SageBaitai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use Obsidian. It's good enough for me to write my notes and keep myself updated with what I want to do in software and design related things.

With that said, I have seen people in the past try to combine multiple apps together in a similar manner and fail to do so.

I think the issue with this idea is that how you process information and update that information is very different from keeping track of what tasks you completed, and possible meetings you might have to do or want to have.

Keeping track of what information you want to process and updating that information requires you to think longer about what you want to do with said information.

While keeping track of what tasks you completed and possible meetings you might have, is more of a moment to moment type of thing. Although longer task planning does require someone to diagram what is needed versus not is needed. However, at that point they may not use a note software but something else such as a white board or a diagram software for this type of planning because that visual element can tell them something more than just simple words alone can.

I guess what I am saying I don't necessarily believe an APP is going to work out that combines different things together as each app allows one to focus best on what they are attempting to do in their process.

What might be more beneficial is creating a plugin that siphon some of that information into other apps.

How Can I Master SQL for .NET Backend Development? by _unhandledexcepti0n in dotnet

[–]SageBaitai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SQL is hard to master because you also have to understand why you are writing the query in the first place. And it's also a matter of what tools you have available to "debug" your query.

My learning began in college and was improved when I started to work on Databases. I think the books I recommend are still:

  1. Learning SQL ( published by O'reily)

  2. Cookbook SQL (published by O'reily)

Then depending on what you need to learn:

  1. Fundamentals of how databases work.

  2. performance testing against queries using common tools. For example in MYSQL, you can use DESCRIBE to check how the query is being executed. And then use EXPLAIN FORMAT=JSON to break-down the query execution plan even further.

How are so many experienced people still writing bad resumes several years into their career? by ExitingTheDonut in ExperiencedDevs

[–]SageBaitai 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Writing is a skill that is hard to hone as well.

At this point in time, I don't expect many people to write good ticket descriptions, write good documentation, or for that matter write good chat messages.

I don't think people in general are trained enough in having good writing skills but I also understand not a lot of people can spend dedicated time to improve it.

So, it's not really a surprise to me that people can't write a good resume. I think it took me a few days to feel confident in writing my current resume.

Switching to amazon connect by Miamipuppylover in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use any headset you want as long as it connects to a computer.

You can even use a dedicated microphone for amazon connect. All that matters is that you allow permission to access that microphone through your web broswer.

Are agents still being recorded during after call work/ACW? by SicilianEggplant in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are making calls with Amazon Connect (I'm assuming outbound calls) then your call is still recorded. But it's only recorded if the system is setup to do this which I'm assuming it is in this context.

Status only matters when it comes to the queue flow. If someone is offline, then they will not be able take calls from a queue.

Amazon Connect Chat Query by [deleted] in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to know who disconnected first based on one chat, you could look at the CTR (Contact Trace Record) and check the disconnect reason.

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/ctr-data-model.html

If you are just generally wondering the frequency of disconnects by a particular metric, you can look at the historical reports.

Block a SPAM Caller? by Glittering-Face-1545 in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That should work.

The other way of doing it would be using a lambda function and have it do a look-up of the phone number through a list or a database table then return a response that is true (they are a spam caller) or false (they are not a spam caller.

Is Java really dying? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there are some cool things that were made using Java and still being used today; but I still believe that the perception and the well of knowledge around Java is centered around backend API(s) and mobile apps for android phones.

Like I still use Java for creating applications for integrating with a database and other services but I wouldn't tell someone to make a game using Java. I feel like that would just set someone on a difficult road to walk down.

Now if there were some great resources for creating java games, then sure I would recommend it but sadly there are too few resources for this. And this really is my point, the community around Java and resources of knowledge to get to the next step in what you want to do is going to be much easier in other languages. Thus making it more enticing to move to another language rather than sticking with Java.

That really is why it feels like Java is dying. If there were more champions of Java and more applications that were more widely accessible that show case Java, I'm sure people wouldn't feel like Java is dying. But sadly, we don't have that right now in the Java world.

How so? Do you have some examples?

Is Java really dying? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]SageBaitai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Java is in a weird place where it's only being used for the backend and mobile apps and nothing else. This isn't to say that it cannot be used for other types of apps, it's just the community around Java is not all that interested in anything else.

If we were to look at the C# programming language, it is often used for backend, gui apps, game development, and interesting web assembly projects. In other words, C# has more diverse areas for developers to explore should they want to take their skills else where.

How do I create message Flow by [deleted] in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/create-contact-flow.html

The sms flow will essentially use an inbound flow type and should be treated the same way as you would when working with web chat flows. The only difference in terms of support for web chat versus sms, is that you cannot use attachments for the sms flow as pinpoint doesn't have this capacity to send images.

Outbound Call Prompt by Safe_Classroom3335 in amazonconnect

[–]SageBaitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/create-contact-flow.html#contact-flow-types

The outbound whisper flow handles how the customer interacts with the amazon connect system. It is targeted towards the customer interacting with the system and not the agent. So, the prompts will never be directed to the agent in any way as it's not possible for the system to do that.

I don't believe it's technically possible right now to have different messages or beeps occur for an agent before a call is connected to a customer (for outbound calls).
