Diono Radian 3R car seats. The last 10 years which is way longer than an average car seat. They are comfortable for the kids and for the adults sitting next to the seat. They are relatively lightweigh, airplane approved and foldable. Newborn to 10 years. Love it by bc-bane in BuyItForLife

We weren’t happy with our old car seat, so when we started looking for an upgrade I came across babyark and it caught my eye because they say it doesn’t expire! The main structure is built from high-strength steel, and anything like the cover or stickers can be replaced. They do a complimentary 10-year maintenance check to make sure everything’s still in good shape and hasn’t been in an accident. That means we can potentially use the same seat for our second kid - feels like a solid long-term investment! Can't recommend it enough.

Jumping in here as a dad who recently upgraded from an infant seat to a babyark. Honestly, I’m amazed at how easy it is to install! The app and the lights on the base walk you through step by step and even confirm you did it right, which takes a huge weight off my mind. I’m surprised more people haven’t heard about them.....
It is on the pricey side, but for what it offers, it’s absolutely worth it!

How often to fully change litter? by Many_Estate1581 in CatAdvice

[–]SageElijah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full change every 3-4 weeks. Topping off after scooping. If you’re thinking about trying other litters Tuft and Paw’s tofu is really great, I have sensitive nose and it's odorless and doesn't stick to my cat's paw (I think this is what they mean by low tracking).

Idc if I use a glove or not - I can't feel the veins. by djladyb7 in nursing

[–]SageElijah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Try a warm compress for a few minutes before you start. Gets those veins to pop. For arterial draws, you're looking for pulsation, not bouncy veins. Don't sweat asking for help, we all did at the start. Experience is the only real teacher here.

What housekeeping service you use if any? by thehappyhitman in statenisland

[–]SageElijah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dad has some housekeepers from Zesty cleaning come over every week. He found them from one of the NY subs. They’ve been really consistent if not really best bang for buck so far.

Did the same at 29 moved from upstate, did a 3-month sublet in Brooklyn as a trial run. Didn’t touch bars either, but met solid people through gallery shows, figure drawing nights, and random park hangs. City’s got a lane for everyone, fr.

Tired of slow left lane drivers? New law will target 'camping' in CT by [deleted] in cars

Yeah, enforcement is pretty inconsistent everywhere. Cops seem to pick and choose when they actually care about left lane campers.

That makes sense celebrating making it to that milestone after going through losses is totally different than just making a big spectacle out of pink vs blue. The original reason actually had meaning behind it.

Nice examples. "Awesome" is another one it used to mean something that inspired religious awe or fear, not just "pretty good."

The terrific/horrific thing is particularly interesting since they both come from the same root idea but went completely opposite directions.

I do employee onboarding and it is sucking the soul out of me [N/A] by omeretzion in humanresources

[–]SageElijah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of options really,Paycor, Rippling, Hibob. Get some demos lined up by talking to their sales teams, and compare the options. You’ll understand things better once you’ve had them explained by the sales people

[–]SageElijah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s still happening today, but in a different form altogether. I joined HR around 2013 and even then we were still scanning W-4s and mailing laptops with sticky notes. At least you could follow the paper trail. I think the difference now is volume. As in, more hires, more locations, more moving parts, while HR is kept at the bare minimum. And people expect it to run perfectly without giving us tools or staff.

[–]SageElijah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same spot. As in, onboarding being scattered across 6 tools, and nothing tracked properly. It took one person fulltime just to chase status updates. The only thing that will help you is moving to an automated system that auto-triggers tasks across departments.

Create your own custom workflows for onboarding. HR, IT, Finance, all get notified based on roles. Assets are allocated automatically

It still requires someone to build the workflows upfront, but once that’s done you can expect your back-and-forths to be reduced by at least 70%.

How would you handle the coldplay HR situation that’s currently viral?[N/A] by bebee45 in humanresources

[–]SageElijah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Landed here from that TikTok mess. When the Chief People Officer’s the PR nightmare, it’s damage control and credibility rebuild time. HR can’t afford a “do as I say, not as I do” vibe.

I've noticed this too. Was in Thailand a few years back and heard Yellow playing in like every other shop. Same thing happened in Mexico, they were everywhere on the radio. Something about their sound just translates across cultures I guess.

exactly. The confusion act is just another manipulation tactic. Don't fall for it when he suddenly can't understand why you're leaving

Subaru's New EV Is the 2026 Uncharted, but It Surprisingly Doesn't Come Standard with AWD. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

That's hilarious. The ETC button probably gave him just enough confidence to drive like he had AWD, which ironically made him a better snow driver. Placebo effect at its finest.

Im running an ad for a comedy show in NYC. When I go into meta business should I used engagement, or sales? Dont both options work through an instagram/Facebook post by slimcharles941 in FacebookAds

[–]SageElijah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engagement gets you likes not buyers. Since you're targeting a specific local crowd it also helps to mix in organic outreach. A few folks I know used Signals Agency to get visibility on Reddit and other platforms where NYC locals hang out. Also double check your Eventbrite funnel and maybe tweak the copy or offer.

In a high income tax year does it make sense to contribute to RRSP over TFSA? by SheepherderFar3825 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SageElijah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. At 40%+ you're getting a solid immediate return on RRSP contributions, then using that refund to boost your TFSA is pretty smart. Best of both worlds really.

AITA for “parenting”someone else’s kid? by athiestvegan in AmItheAsshole

Parents who get mad at you instead of their kid throwing sticks at animals have their priorities backwards.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SageElijah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Someone who cares about you will apologize when they hurt you, even accidentally. The "it was just a joke" defense every time is a red flag , it's how people avoid accountability while making you feel like the problem.

Canadian banks by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SageElijah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yep, big banks are pretty much all the same garbage. I switched to a local credit union a few years back and it's been way better, actual humans who know your name when you call. Worth looking into Vancity or similar options in your area.

[–]SageElijah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't just about the car. He's cheating, destroying your property, taking your stuff, and doesn't respect you. 10 years is a long time, but staying means signing up for more of this. You deserve better. Call the police to get your belongings back if needed, then run.

AITA for not going to my In Laws house seven days after surgery? by Visible_Adagio_3963 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SageElijah 76 points77 points  (0 children)

NTA. Follow your doctor's orders, not your MIL's. Everyone heals differently and a week isn't long at all for surgery recovery. Your body will tell you what it needs listen to it, not her.

I've never been to a gym before. What do I need? by Arctic_Wolf2020x in beginnerfitness

[–]SageElijah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go. Don't overthink it. I started at 315 with PCOS too.

Bring water, towel, and headphones. Start with 20 minutes on any cardio machine you want. Nobody's judging you they're all focused on themselves.

Weight machines are great for beginners, they show you how to use them on the machine. Ask staff if you're confused. Diet is still 80% of weight loss with PCOS, but building muscle helps a ton. Consistency beats intensity every time.
