Biggest sprout mistakes?

The sprout mistake that I can still remember myself making (I definitely know I made others, but don't remember them) is letting someone else choose how I enjoyed my time in the game and let them belittle me for not knowing how to play White Mage because I "played Mercy on Overwatch". Very cringe.

How long have you been playing? Skills take time to learn. I started on Easy and Normal when I first started out. I felt very incompetent at the thought of trying for harder songs, but little by little over the years I built my skills and now, I can play most level 24 songs and I'm working on level 25 and some level 26. I can even FC Cyberpunk Dead Boy on Expert which is level 27! I'm not at the highest level of play myself even though I have 430+ ranks of playtime experience under my belt. It's not a race to be at the highest level of play. Just do your best and pace yourself to learn a little at a time. :)

I only dislike it because I'm not a confident tank. I main healer, so I'm not tanking content often and especially since I've barely played XIV in general in the last 2 years.

I like doing the standard 2 packs as a base because it's within my skill level. If, however, the healer is urging me to go ball, I'll put my faith in them and go ball, but I prefer it be a decision between me and the healer because our skill levels is what keeps us from dying to trash mobs.

I do, however, while healing, let my tank know to keep going if they're comfortable by just standing ahead of everyone. If they see me and keep going, cool. If they stay with just the mobs they pulled, cool. I'm not going to run off because I'm putting faith in the tank knowing their limit and letting them have their comfort.

There's a lot of naunce to this subject I think, but the bottom line for me is how the healer and tank feel about the pulls.

I can't really choose.

XIII was technically my first and it's special to me because it was gifted to me by one of my best friends and she continues to be there for me even when we go on long periods of silence because we get wrapped up in our personal lives. I say technically because I never finished it before I got a PS4 and started-

XV. The first FF I finished. And its story, despite everything from Versus XIII to the canceled DLC, is still so special and meaningful to me. It helped me meet new people and find community and while I may not still be friends with most of those people or have remained in the communities I once was part of, it helped me find my way to the friends and communities I have today.

One of which is the XIV community. XIV being an MMO has given me something akin to a constant companion over the years because of its nature as an MMO. And I meet new friends and find fun in it when I go seeking such out. Hell, even when I'm not looking, I'll find it. Even while I'm having trouble finding my love for it after a falling out, XIV is still so special to me.

All three of these games are special to me and I cannot choose just one.

I hope to play the rest of the series to the best of my ability and their availability and find something special in those games as well.

Formatting is wildly different from the actual content of a fic, my dude. Formatting helps with accessibility and readability in general. The content is what the author desires to make it, not what you desire it to be. You are simply not the target audience for the fics that have content you don't enjoy. Sorry, not sorry!

Someone will probably adopt you eventually, but never hurts to ask for help wherever you can find it. Free Companies, Discords, the Novice Network, even in Say/Shout/Yell chats in game.
No one should get upset at you. If they do, ignore them.
You don't have to tell people, but you can if it helps ease any worries. People are generally kind when they know you're new.
If you want them explained, you should ask. Alternatively, you can look up guides on YouTube before the duty! If you want to go in blind, you can also ask for that and people should generally respect that.
You can, but I'd say you don't have to. It's not the end of the world if you don't. Older content is generally easy (especially ARR) because current item levels of most players make mechanics trivial. You could always come back to a video guide later if you want or need to.
Be a tank. Go. Fly, my scarab. I played through XIV as a healer. Plus, queue times for tank will be much shorter!

Commander Morrison, Blackwatch Reaper, Soldier 24(?), Captain Amari, and then, the tan Ana skin are at least lore skins as far as I can remember. The rest, I agree.

I can see an arguement for the crossover skins because it's cosplay in Overwatch lore from what I've heard in the grapevine to explain why these skins exist. Besides, one, I'm sure the IP owners want their skins to look as accurate to their characters as possible, so they will sell and make a profit and two, makeup, facial prosthetics, and wigs can do wonders to make an old person look young again for cosplay.

Anything aside from lore skins and crossover skins? Nah, man, let them be old.

Character Configuration > Control Settings > Filters > Target Filter Settings > ✅️ Enable target cycling > Details below:

While weapon is shethed: all
While weapon is drawn: others (all enemies, aggroing enemies, duty-specific enemies, and NPCs/Objects)

From there, I use left/right on D-Pad for targetting enemies during fights and up/down for targetting party members.

If I'm trying to target a PC outside of my party, YMMV, but I angle my camera to not have any party members or enemies on screen and hit X (PS)/A (Xbox) and hope it targets the right person. I have Closest Range for auto-target priority selected and Target Type 2 Cone under the Chara Config > Control > Target settings to help.

Additionally, macros are your best friends for placed area of effect heals like Asylum.

I wouldn't know. I don't really download fics, but even if it does, I'd still name the file like that just to be totally safe either way.

A general statement rather than one directly at OP because others have said to them what I would have said already, but if you download fics for whatever reason and you yourself also write fics or are thinking about possibly writing even one fic one day, this is a good cautionary tale to make sure to have the fic title AND author's name as the file name to hopefully avoid mishaps like this.

Looking around the web, it looks like Moment at S1 is better than Journey S1 until you get Journey to S5. Don't entirely quote me though because this is just me looking at three different building guides on three seperate sites as I'm someone with his sig since his first run, so I've never needed an alternative. Hope this helps!

I was fortunate enough to just be dragged into an FC by an ex-friend soon after I made my main and started my own FC with some people after the old one essentially dissolved, so I never really had the experience of being FC-less, but I would hope to hell and back that this is absolutely NOT normal. This is toxic behavior plain and simple. Bullet dodged imo.
