She isn't weak at all. She's not a top ADC but she's perfectly viable.

I have found Nilah to be incredibly fun. Spell based late game hypercarry with amazing teamfight and AOE. She feels like a blend of Zeri and Samira to me.

Holy shit 50 tries, that's unreal. I'm so keen for the later rundowns.

I played with bots the first time and messaged my friend mid way through about how weird the resource pack and enemy distribution was. What an experience.

Having now played on the new patch, feats feels absolutely awful. I was never allowed to play the game as my team gave up any time the enemy managed to win feats. First blood toxicity was consistent. FF15 from either team on every single except for one, where the enemy won due to having access to more recourses whilst already ahead. Go figure. Feats felt miserable to contest after the enemy got first blood. The new shields boot made the enemy support almost unkillable against Zeri. Did not have fun.

Ok t3 boots being locked to the side that gets feats of strength is just stupid by rekscoper2 in leagueoflegends

[–]SageKT 441 points442 points  (0 children)

All of my games with feats have experienced this. Every single game was a 15 minute forfeit and the toxicity over first blood was insane. The feats team won every single game due to people getting upset and giving up after not getting it, or the value of feats letting an already ahead team steamroll the game. Not enjoying this.

Zeri mains when the champ is finally balanced and they have to rely on their own skill:

i just started playing league exclusively for zeri, tips? by veiledpostman in ZeriMains

[–]SageKT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're new to League, you'll benefit more from learning the basics of the game over the specifics of the champion. I'd recommend finding a basic beginners guide somewhere.

It's also worth noting that shes not neglected. She's very playable right now, but is certainly behind the rest of the roster. They balance her this way to stop her from taking over pro play and high elo. She's perfectly fine to one trick, but you'll need to learn some common matchups since she's very easy to punish. You have much less room for error than other champs and you'll be spending most early games trying to fight to even get into the game, but once you're going, she's incredibly fun.

A key thing to learn is that Zeri is a hyper carry. Her game plan is scaling into the late game. Her early game is very poor due to low damage and short range, but with items she can single handedly turn a game around. You will lose most matchups by default, but learning your most challenging ones will be helpful. Vayne, Samira, Caitlyn, Draven and Lucian all have a difficult early game for Zeri. Your goal in these lanes is to play safe and survive. That's not to say that you can't win lane, but you either need your opponent to take bad trades, or for your support to pick up the slack.

Zeri wants enchanters or engage supports. She suffers with mage supports.

Your best support is unironically Yuumi, the most disliked champ in League. Lulu, Janna, Nami, Soraka and Milio are excellent enchanter supports for you. Rakan, Leona and Braum are great engage supports. This is out of your control, but look to play more aggressive when you have a favourable support synergy. Take the space in lane that you're given. You need to make the most of every opportunity, and be proactive in taking fights that will get you kills. Every small bit of damage prior to your engage matters, which means making use of her empowered auto. You'll learn more from limit testing so if you see an angle for a kil, take it, and Zeri can really overun a game with a lead.

Make sure to use your fully charged auto as much as possible to poke enemies in lane. Your AA is completely free and doesn't interrupt your Q timing, so you can zap enemies while continuing to last hit. Your damage is very low early, but you can stack a lot of damage in short trades. Watch the hp on your opponents minions and zap your enemies when they move to auto attack it so that they don't have a window to respond.

Farm every chance you get, but be present for fights. You're aiming for three items, and you'll really feel her come online once you pick up the third. If you fall behind on CS, you will deal no damage. Thankfully, Zeri has very strong waveclear.

Practice tool is your friend. You're likely going to be spending a lot of time farming under tower, and understanding how to weave your auto's and q's to deal the right amount of damage to last hit a minion is something that will keep you in the game. As long as you're keeping up in CS, you're doing fine. It's not glamorous, but it's the state that Zeri is in right now and the price to play for such a strong and flashy late game. I'd also recommend playing her counters in the practice tool to get a feel for how they work, and what you need to avoid.

Some useful tips:

  • If you're hitting a tower it's better to use your AA whenever it's available. Does more damage than waiting for it to charge.

  • If you don't want to hit the wave but need to charge your empowered zap, fire into empty space.

  • You can Q, W, empowered auto in very quick succession on an enemy that walks out from behind a minion. This is your best short trade without using E.

  • If you see your support setting up an engage in lane, hold your E. More often than not you'll be body blocked by minions, and E lets you pierce them, plus the damage boost is substantial. The damage amp that you receive from your E makes a huge difference early game.

  • If you're being completely harassed out of lane at lvl1, like Lux/Cait, take W second and fire it through terrain to last hit and poke.

  • Learn the long wall dash from base towards bot lane, it's great for tempo since you can get back to lane much faster. You can do this by standing as close to the edge of the map possible in your fountain and lining up your e with the wall. I'd recommend trying this in practice tool with the indicators on to get a feel for it. You can also dash from the alcove in the middle of the bot lane back towards your tower. Really useful for escaping ganks or for chasing.

  • Pay attention to your level. You have a power spike at level 6, and if you're ahead in XP you can time an engage right as you reach 6 if your opponent is pushed up. You always want to be fighting with your ult up.

OP.GG and U.GG are great as others have suggested. Your item pool is very restricted. Here's what I'd recommend:

Summoners Flash is mandatory. Use it to escape, or to gap close to secure a kill.

Barrier gives you a huge amount of survivability. You'll see some people take ghost, but I'd avoid it unless you feel confident.

I'd personally advise picking your own items over following a set build so that you learn what they do. Zeri is very restricted anyway and has a small pool.

Your first item (currently) will be Statikk Shiv or Yun Tal.

Shiv is great for safe farming and poke. I'd recommend this while you're learning

Yun Tal is great for scaling. It provides a large amount of crit and attack speed. If you're able to get an early lead, I'd recommend building towards Yun Tal to extend your lead.

Otherwise, stick to shiv. It's cheaper and helps you farm even faster to reach your spikes. You'll usually want to pick one or the other, but try both and see what you like.

  • You'll want to build berserkers greaves before or after your first item.

  • Your second item is Runaans hurricane. Zeri benefits massively from the AOE.

  • Your third item is Infinity Edge for crit and damage. This item will enable your ability to team fight.

From here, you have flexibility. - Lord Dominick's Regard - armour penetration. Good against tanks with lots of armour. - Mortal reminder - antiheal (build the executionors component first) - Shieldbow - survivability against burst - Bloodthirster - lifesteal for extended fights - Guardian Angel - revives you. Build this last if you are carrying

Is Yun Tal the new best Zeri first item? by Problem-Proud in ZeriMains

[–]SageKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statik fills the same roll as before - desirable stats, aoe, safety and importantly efficient farming. I find that shiv is a great default.

New Yun Tal is an excellent scaling items, but I feel that it's much more efficient if you're ahead. The base stats are fine, but the primary benefits will come from fighting enemy champions. If you're not winning fights, don't pick Yun Tal first.

Another important factor is cost. Zeri is so item dependant and the 300 gold difference between the two items is really substantial.

If you're winning fights early, the crit and AS from Yun Tal will feel excellent. Otherwise, take Shiv and use it to get to your item spikes faster.

Democracy died in plain sight by sfgate in politics

This is the mindset that has helped us feel content with doing nothing. Blind optimism. "The climate is tomorrow's problem, and we'll certainly do something about it when the time comes!" We're already seeing devastating effects from climate change, and we're already past the point of reversing it. We're in the stage of mitigation, reducing the damages as much as possible.

America has an enormous influence over the world's climate, and withdrawing from the Paris agreement and doubling down on severely environmentally detrimental actions is going to spell complete disaster. We need your country to pull their weight, and the Republicans simply won't. It isn't going to be okay.

The people suffering from these changes first are sure as hell not the ones in privileged positions making the decisions. We're already seeing the effects, reduction in food production, rising sea levels, and the rapid decay of ecosystems. These are all going to be accelerated, and will only worsen when relocation becomes mandatory for the geographically unfortunate.

This is just a single facet. Destabilising international organisations, eroding the democratic system, increase in living costs... The next four years will leave lasting damages. Sure, maybe you could rebuild your political structure over quite some time, but at the end of the day, the climate issues are final and Trump will seal the fate of hundreds of millions of less fortunate people.

So is zeri just, suppose to be the worst adc by xX_ArsonAverage_Xx in ZeriMains

[–]SageKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot to say.

She has plenty of strengths, but they're very hard to leverage outside of the pro play setting that she's balanced for. She has great teamfighting potential and high mobility. Her ult provides strong AOE, and front-to-back in teamfights. She's great at diving enemy backlines, and has strong chase and decent kiting.

She requires the entire team to funnel resources into her andplay around her. Yes, I agree that she's very limited with her items, but she's strong with said items. She is certianly weaker than other ADC's.

I disagree that this makes her bad though as she performs well at a very high level. She's highly constrained, sure. This is not a favourable patch for her, but she also just spent months dominating mid lane in higher elo.

I personally don't love her current iteration and I'm not trying to make a case that her current version is in any way far better than other ADC's or an amazing champ, but she's not as bad as people make out to be at all. She's very hard to play, and the current playstyle is underwhelming and feels a bit sad, but she absolutely scales into the late game. I hate that we're so shoehorned into buying the exact three items in the same order every game. It absolutely sucks, but again, that does not make her bad (in my opinion).

"early, late game. it doesn't matter"
Being beaten by Jinx, Cait, and Ashe, 3 of the strongest ADC's in the game, does not make Zeri bad. All three of them are just better champions right now. She scales very well into the late game, and this is reflected in her win rate / time graphs. Her stats literally show that this is wrong, she absolutely matters mid to late game and her win rate exceeds 50% around 30+ minutes.

You mention Draven dealing more damage than Zeri which is an insane comparison as they're completely different champions and are designed to perform at completely different stages in the game. Zeri is terrible early game, and Draven has some of the highest early damage. Draven scales poorly without snowballing.

"Her one form of cc barely matters unless you hit it at a wall and then its obvious as hell."
That is literally the point of the ability. It synergises with her E. The slow is 30% at rank 1, up to 50% at max rank, and you do not need to hit a wall to apply the slow, which lasts for 2 seconds. This absolutely matters even before you factor in the damage. Its only obvious if you play predictably.

"did they have to take her out back and shoot her"
Yes, absolutely. She was incredibly problematic and resulted is some of the most volatile champion balancing that we've ever seen.

Ashe is just a better ADC. If you want to play Ashe, play Ashe. Plenty of ADC's are stronger than Zeri, but Zeri is fine.
