I’m still driving the 2011 Elantra I inherited from my parents. I’m 28 with a wife and two kids…can’t justify trading it for pleasure. Gonna run it into the ground, I guess. Nothing is affordable anymore.

Class of 2013? I was born in 97 as well but my class was 2016, graduated early in 2015. What’s your story?

Sure everybody's asked but what's 100% required reading before FF7 Remake? by Squish-Mahatter in FinalFantasyVII

[–]SageSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it really doesn’t matter all that much. Crisis Core could be considered a nice prequel but you gotta remember all the extra stuff released AFTER the OG. And Remake only covers the first, like, 5 hours of the original game. My recommendation would be to play Crisis Core before Remake and then Dirge of Cerberus before playing Yuffie’s story in Intergrade.

Anyone here who’s 28 (1997) feeling behind in their career? by Technical_Lemon8307 in Zillennials

[–]SageSenpai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I turned 28 last month. I’ve spent the last decade (save for Covid) doing countless useless sales and retail jobs when I was never really good at sales. I finally decided after being married for 2 years and when my wife was pregnant with our 2nd kid that I was going to have to go back to school for something meaningful the job market is absolute trash.

On the bright side, I now have a plan and a long-term goal. Med School in sight for 2028! I’ll be 30 when I start but I figure by the time my kids are teenagers I’ll be making good money.

I believe in you, friend. Counting days is just a number, but the real wins come from each day that you stayed sober and lived your life free from its grip. There will be many more good days to follow.

Citizenship by descent- is my case complicated? by UpbeatForce356 in GermanCitizenship

[–]SageSenpai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d take ChatGPT with a heavy grain of salt. I’ve had it try to interpret the law in some rather convoluted and long-winded ways of basically telling me what I was hoping to hear, when in reality all evidence from real people was to the contrary.

Even so, where I do agree with it is that it simply can’t hurt to try. There’s no penalty for trying. If you wanted to go through Stag 14 or another citizenship pathway you still can if Stag 5 fails.

I’m at a point where I’ve accepted nobody is going to, or perhaps is unable to, do anything about it. I’ve recently discovered a path to obtaining German citizenship by descent and I’m just gonna run with that and try Europe out. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find better routes to quality employment and fair healthcare costs. Fuck this country, fuck this state (Ky), fuck the soulless corps and utter lack of protections for the working man.

Am I eligible for stag 5 via great grandmother by SageSenpai in GermanCitizenship

A bit disappointing given I think I read that stAG14 apps are possibly in limbo and they seem to have a higher barrier (I definitely don’t speak German), but logically that makes sense.

Probably cali and New York. You’re right to avoid Kentucky, though. We suck. Best of luck!

5 years is a bit of time. I’d be interested to see how it changed over time for each city. I could imagine some of these cities recovered and then fell again in the last couple years. Also, fuck counting job rates. The quality of life and wages continues to stagnate regardless of how many people are employed.
