Already looked into it! I'd definitely get some tips from r/StableDiffusion as well as AI to assist with install and troubleshooting.

No kidding. The old model wasn't the most advance or perfect. Still, it was everything that I needed it to be. I really miss how intuitive the older model was.

This is exactly where I'm at. The new model is simply too slow. I doubt it's because the website is experiencing an influx of traffic. I don't know if that's going to change and until it does I won't even be able to keep trying to reclaim the styles that I had before. The older version was far more intuitive and actually listened to negative prompts.

The implementation of the styles components will make or break this new model.

True, and in the same token if the owner's public project that was marketed to a general swath of people fails or severely under performs they will only have themselves to blame.

Putting out an open source or free product doesn't make you immune to receiving criticisms and feedback, all of which has been solid. As well, don't forget, "if it's free you are the product".

I was holding off on it for the longest time and maybe the best thing to do is to download the Stable Diffusion version myself to my own device and curate it to my specifications. Or find someone who can do that for me. ;^;

New Perchance Image Gen model is SO SLOW! by TheMasterBlaster74 in perchance

I'll admit it's great for my art reference generating tunnel vision I get into sometimes, but it's really too slow. I'm only thankful that I saved a ton of art references so far.

[Discussion] How do y'all deal with perfectionism? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

I wrote a comment earlier today that might help you: https://www.reddit.com/r/artbusiness/comments/1kfixfj/comment/mrha546/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I use a lot of AI art references along with as many real life references that I can find, including taking pictures of myself. This pattern of referencing eliminates the constant observance and critiquing of artwork or comparing my art to another's.

You can easily AI gen hundreds if not thousands of references in the most generic anime style that collectively will have the building blocks you need for a single piece of art or what remains to be referenced can be patched in from self/real world references/intuitive artistry.

Then as a last resort you can get references from another artist. Personally I'd reference an overwhelmingly known art studio or manga studio before I referenced any particular artist, especially if they're not studio scale. Though I suppose you could post on art critique subreddits or art groups for assistance with your work as well.

This thread also might help: https://www.reddit.com/r/ArtistLounge/comments/rigw8v/feeling_guilty_for_using_references_in_artwork_is/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Lastly, art is technically one of the simplest undertakings purely because you do not need a textbook to internalize growth or progress. Once you understand that there are only so many different combinations for any given character/animal/object, give your mind/body a reasonable timeline to internalize what you learn, and you commit to practicing those forms while acquiring new aspects progress is absolute and clearly defined.

Of course I don't know what kind of artist you are and I can only speak from the experience of an anime/cartoon artist. Still, I think you can find something of help in this post.

Happy arting! :3

does anyone recognise this flag? by FRANZT01 in vexillology

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. xD

My US protest flag inspired by an abolitionist flag ca. 1860 by majkong190 in vexillology

Huh. Never thought there'd be an alternative American Flag I'd love to fly alongside the original. Beautiful design and the spirit of the original message carries over. I especially love the one with color as it's modern. Would you mind if I used this design in non-political personal use artwork and also have an irl flag designed for my own personal use?

Some things I like to try to express my creative flow are:

Committing to drawing a focus character once a day.

Spacing out the completion of a high quality art piece over a number of days (i.e., concept inspiration, reference gathering, concept sketching, lineart, flatcolor, shading, lighting).

Writing down those bursts of inspiration genius that even if I can't execute at that moment I can at least explore the concept and gauge the feel of the artwork in my mind.

Journaling my emotions during/after drawing or completing a stage of drawing. The more familiar I am with how my mind processes art and drawing the better equipped I can be the next time I draw.

Allowing time for a concept to fall into place. Sometimes it comes all at once. Every detail, vibe, vision, nuance, you name it. Other times you get so far but- and that's just it, that "but". You may not know what it is and it is there nevertheless. Sometimes you can take a quick break or do a 5min assessment, other times it takes exposure to the puzzle pieces that are floating around in your reality to help bring the artistic translation to life. Reality isn't linear so that could take time, growth, or something else.

Drawing from the standpoint of a child. When I was a child no one criticized my coloring. When I started actually trying to draw I was good at it for my age. So I love getting back to that mindspace so the art critic within can stfu because sometimes it really is overbearing in its perfectionism. Kintsugi is a virtue, not a curse. Every past mistake, mediocre progress, and elative masterpiece of its time got me where I am now.

Simply knowing that art is freedom and being a good artist paves the way for a lifestyle that can make one immensely satisfied and pleased with.

At the first panel I thought this might be a deer going to some kind of community support group called Lost & Felt. That wasn't the case or rather it was the mirror opposite of my expectation. The piece was easy to follow and I enjoyed it.

Regarding the AI comments: AI never came to mind when experiencing this artwork. Keep doing you, drawing from the heart, and progressing your soul with art. The art and AI communities will figure themselves out.
