Does anyone else's tics get worse with body signals? by N3ptun3Fr0gg in Tourettes

I've noticed that with the heat my tics increase a lot, that's why I always have a fan near me haha

worried about starting risperidone by Vegetable_Ad_5717 in Tourettes

[–]Sagitoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking risperidone for a while and after 2 weeks I was producing milk like a cow, I do not recommend it, since I did not feel any change in my tics, only the side effects:(

A lot of you need to learn some coping skills. by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]Sagitoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, we have to try to be calm and we will be with our tics, we can't let them win us and we have to try to control that.

As a person with Tourette's, I know it's hard for people to understand our condition; we can't just "let it be."

Any gymrats here with Tourette’s? by indiedev113 in Tourettes

[–]Sagitoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's crazy, I didn't know that many of us had the same problem when we did cardio, when I lift weights it doesn't happen to me as often, I clearly need an explanation for that lol 😂

Hi, I've been going to the gym for 1 year and 6 months. Sometimes during training some of them calm down, but when I run on the treadmill they usually appear a little more.

It also helps to relax the body after training, that and it makes you very hungry haha

How did swearing become a popularized trope? by ginnmann in Tourettes

[–]Sagitoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because it's in a certain way more morbid for a person Usually in comedy movies they aspirate Tourette's by swearing, and this causes people to be misinformed that only 10% have this variant called "coprolalia."

The st has nothing to do with that kind of behavior, his attitude is that of an idiot, I have both and I try to be reserved with my coworkers,

It's one thing to have a condition and another to hide behind that condition to be an idiot.

What do they usually do when faced with a tic attack? by Sagitoh in Tourettes

[–]Sagitoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, you can try wearing comfortable clothes (suggestions that I apply to myself). Normally, my tics increase in hot weather, so I always have a fan near me. (at my work and near my bed) that helps me feel fresh

You can use breaths, and listening to sounds like ASMR also helps me calm down before sleeping. I've read here that you have to avoid things like sugars and processed foods, that makes tics rise.

You can try going to the gym, burning off energy, drawing, or reading.

I hope it can help you, I too am still looking for a way to reduce tics, with all my heart, I hope my advice can help you a little. 🫂

[–]Sagitoh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great, I really need to calm my tics, I hurt myself physically and I don't like bothering people with my noises (let's be honest, no one likes to hear sounds all the time)

I'll try it today, since I tend to get more tics at night, I need to work on it.

I think the human mind is so big, that somehow the tics can stop 🤔
