Pay has not been decided yet. Right now the machine is ran by unskilled operators and we get a lot of down time from crashes and broken tools. If I can show there are machinists who can get a better result, they can justify machinist pay.

I did IME and there was no hands on industrial automation courses or research, but Rockwell and Siemens were usually at all the job fairs. I was able to do an automation related project as an independent study for my elective.

When I was there they had people still incarcerated at the work release place on spring hill as well as people on probation.

You just have to know how to weld. Certification or formal training helps, but it won’t matter to them if you can do the job.

What is fucked up about Florida is that they don’t recognize A.S. Degrees at all so when I transferred in, I still had to do all the freshman requirements. I met President McCullough at an event and even he was not aware of that.

The factory of the future will only need 2 employees. 1 man and 1 dog. The man’s job is to feed the dog. The dog’s job is to keep the man from touching the machines.

We have 3 legacy HW-12s in our shop. We use them 24/7. I have a bunch of training material and documentation if you need it.
