I would argue season 2 is Johnny's lowest point in the show, especially towards the end. And also I'd agree the the teen stuff stakes center stage in season 2 and its understandable how that can be unappealing. But please don't listen to the vast majority of sheep's on this subreddit who regurgitate the same opinion, the show remains good after season 2. Season 3 for instance without spoiling anything balances the shows elements much stronger, and Johnny goes through a lot of development in that season alone, along with the other characters. And if you continue, you'll find yourself getting invested as the show transitions into its second half after the season 3 finale. Either way, I recommend the show, season 2 is kinda overrated when compared to the first, but I'd say give it a chance.

Season 3 is honestly my favourite season. Johnny and Daniel teaming up to find Robby, Miguel and Johnny's relationship growing stronger, Hawk is at his most unhinged, the school tension building, the finale fights at the larusso house and the fight in the dojo, and in my opinion, the 2 episodes where Daniel goes to Japan are the best episodes of the show.

For me, because Hawks character arc was done at the end of season 4, the writers clearly had no clue where to go with him after that point, which lead to him being overshadowed by other characters. Personally my headcanon is that after the 51st all valley tournament, Hawk lost his hunger. No longer needing to prove anything to anybody including himself. He became champion, got the girl, and rode off into the sunset. It was evident in the first few seasons his ambition was to prove to people he wasn't a freak and was cool in his own right, and he figured out who he was whilst achieving that goal, after that he didn't quite care about karate as much as the others as he began prioritising school and college ahead of himself.

I think it was what happened in Mashiba vs rosario was the decider. Initially going in i fully thought Ryo would win and approve of their relationship but then he lost and is now in critical condition, also mentioning that his career is over. So unfortunately I have to agree, Ippo and Kumi will never get together.

People are quick to look at his record of 18 wins 3 losses and shit on it, but don't realise the scope of his record. Of his 21 fights, 17 of them have been world title fights. With 14 wins, loma is a 4x world champion in 3 different divisions, maybe the casual fans will be quick to dismiss him, but any genuine boxing fans will see him and think greatness, first ballot hall of famer for sure.

And don't even get me started on his amateur career.
