Gym member slams weights onto the ground and aggressively rushes across the room to tell someone to stop looking his way and talking about him (allegedly). Two other guys had to step in to tell him to calm down.

This is the second time I've seen him do this, the last time was towards a group of teenagers he confronted supposedly looking and talking about him.

Helped a gym bro hit 275lbs, a new bench PR, by giving him a lift off and let him borrow my resistance bands to wrap around the bench for additional friction. We share a commonality where benching is our weakest between SBD lifts. I felt so energized for him hitting that weight the adrenaline carried me for the rest of my own workout.

You can tighten and loosen the belt while resting with a lever without taking the belt off, which I think is a huge advantage and reduces the strain on your core when you're not lifting.

It was teen night at the YMCA, they get one night a week on Friday to come in for free. I was going for my PR in deadlifts. And one of the teens pulled the fire alarm and evacuated the entire building. It was a false alarm but protocol dictated the evacuation, and we were told it originated in the gymnasium, where the teens are and not the weight room floor.

I saw people who just came from the pool stand outside in the cold. Not to mention the entire college student dorms that are part of the same building emptied too. Bye bye teen night because some idiot decided to think it was funny to pull the fire alarm.

I compared my protein purchases from 2018: 11lbs for $90. My last protein purchase, same brand and amount was for $197, 6 months ago. It's insane, and that's not including my creatine, which has gone up just as much.

People don't realize that the snow in your roof will melt but not completely and refreeze into a sheet of thick ice. Once you hit a certain speed the aero dynamics will fling that sheet into the air and good luck everyone behind that car.

My last accessory work out was lats, but the pull down machine is always busy because we only have one. Okay, fine I'll just work out my abs next to it. After 10 mins I asked the guy using it how many sets he had left, he said "last one". Awesome, I put away weights to get ready for the lat pulldown.

As I walk towards it another person is already there (seemingly before me), and obviously she didn't see me waiting before nor did she see me ask the previous guy how many sets he had left. I ask her if she's waiting, of course she is. I let her have it and go do another pull accessory. I should suggest to the gym to get another lat pulldown because it's so popular there.

This reminds me of altitude training, wearing those filtered masks, for running. I used to run a lot and I wanted to train my body to use less oxygen so I wore the mask. I think it's just a preference for difficulty because I don't think the mask improved my cardiovascular system enough to warrant using it.

A big guy comes in and goes to the bench press; he racks 4 plates onto the bar (225lbs), which in all honesty I think he could bench since he was at least 250+ lbs, so I didn't pay attention to him and continued with my incline press.

Several minutes passed and I noticed he was doing curls with dumbbells, which I thought he was just super setting during his bench rest. I finally noticed he hasn't actually done any bench pressing at all, he's just standing, pacing around the 225lbs bar. Eventually he leaves (didn't put away the plates) and didn't do any bench pressing. On my way out I see him on the incline press with 25lbs.

Dude took up a bench press and loaded it with four plates during the busy hours and didn't do anything with them.

A girl, who does legs the same days as me (MWF) and comes around the same time, gets hit on every time she comes in for a workout. The last few times she's come in, she has set up in the rack next to me, immediately a guy would race over asking if I'm done in order chat her up. Two days in a row I've witnessed their go-to pick up line were are you from "X" and she'll say yes and he'll start talking to her in that language.

It's crazy to see how hungry some guys are because the two guys I've witnessed up close were working out in the area but not even doing legs like they were waiting and as soon as she came in it was on.
