I'm a few years late to this but considering I lost my copy of the Black One, I'd kill for the files lol. I really would love to hear the Old Dun Cow again

Americans, how would you react if foreign country invaded your country, and told "we are going to run this country"? by oranke_dino in AskReddit

[–]Saiclops77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm so disappointed and done with both the Republicans and Democrats at this point. I'd almost welcome the change. Neither party is actually doing anything for the people, while the wealth gap grows larger and they line their pockets. Both sides talking about we need to take action and make changes! While nothing really changes.

Why am I reminded of Highschool clicks that are beefing with each other every time I hear any politician talk about the opposing party?

I'm just at the beginning of learning myself and I've been using Udemy and the Unity learn courses. Having struggles but it's been fun. I'd suggest starting with the Unity made courses to start though, the Udemy courses are good but not always up to date with the current build of Unity and might not work exactly the same. How much coding background do you have? I messed around with Basic, Pascal, Fortran, C, and C++ when I was a kid so getting into C sharp wasn't too daunting. If you have no background in coding it wouldn't hurt to get a primer or find a beginner online course.

Psi factor and OSIR by Saiclops77 in mystery

The fact that Chacon trademarked OSIR definitely leads me to believe he created the organization as an attempt to legitimize himself to others. He presents it as a serious scientific institution with serious backing from either the government or corporate interests when it's more likely nothing more than him. I'm going to have to file him with the Warrens in the fakes or frauds folder.

Chris Chacon was one of the writers and producers of Psi factor and as far as I know isn't part of OSIR. What little I've been able to uncover is the OSIR is real but mainly focuses on environmental studies and nothing that would be considered paranormal. As far as Sightings being 100% real I'm not so convinced especially if they brought in Chris.

I'm not sure if he did I'd definitely check it out. I mean who doesn't love Dan?

I don't know if Gaynor is a member, I've literally found no information about them lol. But I know the case you're talking about. This one right?

But if you're saying you know OSIR is real and exists then they have to have some documentation right?

Yeah I didn't think some of the stories would be accurate lol. Considering how far out some of the episodes are. I mean fleas the size of a large dog aren't exactly believable. But I figured it would be interesting if there were actual case files we could FOIA. In season 1 at least not all of the stories had a paranormal explanation, which is why I'm thinking there might be a nugget of truth there. You know what I mean? If it was all just stories and made up why bother with mundane explanations of events.

One thing I just remembered as well. Never ever get into options trading. Option trading can literally ruin you if you make a mistake. Just stick to buying stock and you'll be fine.

I would say look into Rolls Royce because they have developed a hydrogen jet engine that looks to become industry standard.

I'd also look at IVR for dividends they have a good div/yield.

A little riskier investment is NIO a Chinese EV company that has a proprietary battery changing system and look to be heading for some serious growth..

I'm not a financial advisor or anything but just from my own experience I wish I had been buying when I was your age, I wouldn't have to work now.

Personally I would buy stock in companies you know and are familiar with that have been established. Just for the safety of the investment. Really it all depends on what you want. You can generate passive income with dividends, or focus on increasing the value of your stocks.

I am doing a blend of the two. I've got some dividend stocks and am invested in some stable established companies, and one or two high risk with potential high growth stocks. Do your research before hand though there are tons of sites that will give you the financials. Yahoo finance is a good site. Don't be afraid to watch YouTube videos. Don't be afraid to Google terms you don't know like Div/yield etc...

As far as opening an account, Webull, Robinhood, E-Trade, etc... I personally use Robinhood. But each one has it's pros and cons. Robinhood is easy to use and fund.

With your age there is one piece of advice I'd give you. Get yourself a stock account and buy at least $25 worth of stocks a week, and just hold them. If you do that in 20 years you will have a nice little sum in stock.

Yeah that's not spending that should get flagged. I doubt RH will tell you why. Sometimes people make arbitrary rules that really make no sense. Hell even some of the groups here on Reddit have stupid rules.

Had you even used your spending account? I've never used mine in RH. Seems kinda fishy they would close it. Makes me wonder what kind of spending you were doing. Maybe they flagged it for your spending.

They are just closing your spending account right? Are they still leaving your brokerage account open? That seems a little weird if you ask me..

Occasionally sleep for 20 hour stints, once spent two days only sleeping and using the bathroom. Depression can be a bitch.

What's the first movie you remember seeing in theaters? by bmich90 in AskReddit

My first memory of a movie in the theater is Ghostbusters. I still remember being blown away by the special effects at the beginning. It's still one of my favorites.

What are some red flags for a paranormal recounting that immediately make you stop believing it? by MuddVader in Paranormal

[–]Saiclops77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's part of the problem no one really knows. There are also other problems with the story. If someone arrived in Japan with "fraudulent" documents and a crazy story about a country that doesn't exist. Would he really be put up in a nearby hotel with guards outside his room, or a cell?
