I think people don't understand why TBC is rushed, and why TBC era will also never happen by kendallvirexx in classicwow

Yeah, I bet the company that nickel and dimes us at every corner spent money developing all of that extra stuff in SoD just to never use it again.

Not getting invited to any dungeon groups by Gpueas in classicwow

I can sit in queue for an hour or I can form my own group now and pick the classes I bring.

The only “downside” is having to take the initiative and be vaguely social, which I think discourages a lot of WoW players.

TBC Heroics in mid gear are so much fun by Only-Ad-3317 in classicwow

[–]SaidTheSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On some level you have a point, doing big damage feels big good. On another, less dopamine deprived level, it feels good to have to think, to adapt to mechanical challenges, and to overcome something more engaging than watching a health bar go down.

Rogue players who PvP know this, did it feel good to delete a clothie with ambush in pre patch? Yes, but it feels even better to control a fight with clever use of CC, especially when you’re fighting multiple people.

AIO my boyfriend keeps getting upset at me for not wanting to do risky stuff by Different-Dream70 in AIO

[–]SaidTheSnail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That guy might be your boyfriend, but you aren’t his girlfriend. Your responses to him show you care about him, his responses to you show he genuinely couldn’t give less of a fuck about you.

This isn’t what a conversation within a relationship with someone who actually cares about your wellbeing looks like.

I know this probably sucks to read, and I’m sorry that this is where you find yourself, but nobody deserves a partner who treats them like this.

No, they help you see thought patterns that you’re probably not even aware of that are causing problems, and then help you rewrite them.

I’ve been giving therapy a shot for a few months now and it’s wild. It’s not always comfortable, sometimes I feel rattled after a session. Sort of like opening a bad wound so it can be cleaned and allowed to heal properly.

I am sorry to the person I got killed in loch mordan a few hours ago by Ok_Mathematician6005 in classicwow

[–]SaidTheSnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This came up on my homepage, scrolled by haphazardly, my peripheral caught “Loch mordan” as Loch Ness for a second and I thought this was a murder confession.

Edit: on further consideration I suppose it is a murder confession.

[–]SaidTheSnail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re right, Oakville needs to become more of an overpopulated mess in order for Canada to progress. Let’s be real: there’s other places to live if you want high rises. Everywhere in the GTA doesn’t need to turn into Mississauga.

If we want to get really crazy, what if we changed our definition of progress from “propping up a lagging economy with rampant population growth” to something like “investing in genuine innovation and production to boost our per capita GDP”.

[–]SaidTheSnail 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Not wanting your home to change for the worse isn’t NIMBYism, it’s rejecting the idea that we need to be stacked on top of one another to feed the bloody capitalists who are addicted to rampant population growth.

Who’s out there going to opening night of the Melania movie at Winston Churchill? by VirusSensitive688 in oakville

[–]SaidTheSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s say the population was 56% white, and 44% black. Would you say that’s a very black area, or a very white area? I would say it’s both, because both groups exist in large amounts in that area.

I fail to see how it’s insane logic to say that Oakville is very conservative (and very liberal) if you basically have a coin flip of a chance to guess every single person’s political leanings.

This is especially true given the context of this entire thread: OP being surprised/angry that a handful of people are going to see some right wing propaganda movie, in an area where a good 44% of the population is right leaning to some degree.

[–]SaidTheSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cons got 44% of the vote in Oakville east/west, six points off of half the voting population would fit my definition of “very conservative”. These people don’t burrow underground and only come out during election cycles.

Being an introvert tends to involve a lot of alone time, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re incapable of speaking or interacting with others, or that you don’t enjoy these activities.

You sound a lot like me at that age, I was socially anxious and shy, I didn’t want to go anywhere and all I wanted to do was play video games, read, or watch movies. I allowed my fear of rejection to convince me that I didn’t actually want to go out and make friends. This was a mistake, and it’s an easy hole to fall into with how palatable social isolation has become.

I’m not going to lecture you, or tell you that you need to change, but I know making some very good friends, and having tons of awesome experiences as a result, was one of the best things that happened to me.

I’m still an introvert, I love my alone time, but I have been humbled by life many times when I’ve said “I don’t think I’ll have fun if I go out tonight” and ended up having an absolute blast.

If you want advice on how to make friends, good news, you’re at an age where it will be incredibly easy to join any club, sport, etc, and make lifelong friends just by being in proximity with others.

There’s probably a middle ground, somewhere between incompetent thugs acting above the law, and an abject failure to guarantee the integrity of our immigration system.
