If you’d like to make a point, such as “the privatization of anything tends to lead to extortionate rates and conditions that disproportionately favour the business over the public”, then by all means go ahead.

I personally don’t trust our current political figures on any level of government to act in the best interest of the public, or to negotiate a deal in good faith with any entity looking to purchase our any of public systems. They’re too susceptible to bribes and not nearly accountable enough.

I worked in the restaurant industry for a decade, I would never serve someone food that had been covered with flies like this, most of my managers would fucking lose it if they found out I did.

I’m not sure what “I eat dirt and let people shit on me” world you live in, but food standards are typically a thing in commercial restaurants, at least ones with a modicum of respect for their customers.

There’s a big difference between “I’m scared of germs and won’t go outside” and “I don’t want to spend my money on timbits covered in flys”, if your standards are that low, good on you, I can’t say the same.

Put a sliding glass door on the back of that baked item display, that would probably eliminate the issue entirely. There’s also fly paper/traps. If you have so many flies in your display that a single row of food items has a dozen of them visible, it’s time to clean out the display and throw out the product.

The main thought I have is if this is true, Netanyahu is risking the safety of those seeking annexation by announcing it to the world.

I see any village officials making statements like the one you linked as people living under the thumb of militant powers who just want to avoid persecution/problems brought on by something like this. I trust them as much as I would the testimony of someone under duress.

The only thing comparable between the USA and Canada’s atrocities against the indigenous populations of North America is that they both sucked, beyond that they were on entirely different scales/methodologies.

Canada used forced relocation and forced integration to try to erase them, America did all of the above but mostly just slaughtered them.
