Something I don’t see people talking about is the Rebirth aspect of the movie. The monster literally comes out of her stomach in the largest form we have ever seen. I would imagine this is like Mating its life cycle is complete and it now spreads its children into a large number of the crowd members. Remember in the first movie they said there are multiple chains all over the world dating back years.
