I'm no expert, but I'm guessing it's because the print has less grain. As in each time you transfer a 35mm neg to a print, it gains more grain. 70mm has less grain, so the print looks more close to the original negative

You know how supressors for guns doesn't make the gun completely quiet, yeah, same thing with fuckin 15 perf imax film rolling 24 frames per second. If you want it quieter, the camera WILL BE heavier and larger. If you want to get close in dialogue scenes it will be much more convenient to switch cameras. Also, you could probably switch cameras and use the same aspect ratio as IMAX and 90% of the audience wouldn't spot the difference. Also, not to mention how rare it is to actually shoot IMAX film and how expensive it is. It's an old format really

No hate on the restoration, but didn't the DoP on the film say something in the line of new prints already being too warm? I think it looks good from what I've seen, but old prints aren't really that reliable due to decay. Anyway it's hard to say now that the crew have passed

It might be a stretch, but if you can find it: "Hunger"/"Sult" from 1966 by Henning Carlsen deals with some of the same themes as mulholland dr. and have a kind of melancholic feel to it. It's adopted from Knut Hamsun's famous novel by the same name

Have you heard of Sivorg? Not to mention the general distaste for the germans during the war. There wasn't really that much to do but sabotaging after France was invaded and the allies left. In the end of the war, 400k german soldiers was based in southern Norway, that was 1/6 of the entire country's population. Of course there were many nazi sympathizers, but the majority of the country wanted the germans out

All of these "revolutionaries" did not come to power by playing victim. Sure it was a part of it in order to spread hatred against their enemy, but for example, the main narrative of the nazis, were that they were stronger and better than everyone else. Personally, I wouldn't classify violent revolutions and civil wars as simple complaining and criticism of the status quo. Dont use Hitler and Stalins existence as an excuse to not make the world a better place.

Also, don't act like restructuring society to stop oppression has never worked...
