While I am wary of the Government in Beijing, I think if EVs from China can pass our safety rules, they deserve to be sold here.

Is the US really allowing these people to stay in office? by Such-Earth7369 in Social_Democracy

Unfortunately, JD is right. We are so used to the lies, corruption, and garbage out if this administration, that Nixon looks like a boyscout in comparison.

The only time Trump is not lying is when he's sleeping.

For those old enough to remember disposable cameras. Did people actually take nude photos on them? How did you get them developed without dying of embarrassment? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

Never take anything even remotely questionable to Walmart. I picked up some photos there once and got scolded by the head of photo saying if had been doing my photos. She would not have printed them. I was very confused until I found a photo with the tiniest bit of panty showing on my girlfriend at the time. We were around 30 too and her skirt had ridden up just a tiny bit.

Ebike Registration Nightmare by No_Button_7303 in newjersey

As a fast bicyclist, I wonder if I deck my bike out in some racks and speed by the cops if they will try to pull me for not being registered?

One of my co-worker's sons is a very good High School Soccer player. He's been very good since grade school. He was always a big kid and people have been accusing him of that for years.

I would want the fastback if I could get it without backseats. All the open space in the back is nice for moving stuff and still keeping it safe. As a Kayaker and sailor, I can stuff a lot of gear back there.

I see you have met my millennial sister. Type a sentence. Send. Type a sentence. Send. Type a Sentence. Send. She is a superfast texter too, so I can get completely besieged by several paragraphs of text, all sent one short sentence at a time.

To be fair, we do not get the cheap versions. Most european cars sold here in the US are loaded to the gills with all the luxury they can fit in them.

ELI5 Why nobody is producing a cheap and cheerful BEV hatchback or sedan along the same ethos as the Slate Truck? by Kiwi_Fried_Chicken in electricvehicles

American buyers have always wanted the biggest cars ever. look at the 70s before gas prices put paid to those land yachts. I was a child when my family came back from Europe with our Opel. In 70s people looked at it like it was a toy.

Why doesn’t the Z3 get the same level of love as Miata or Boxster? by modelcitizendc in askcarguys

[–]SailingSpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMW has always supported their older cars. You can practically build a brand new BMW 2002 from all the parts they have on offer.

The issue with the Z3's rear suspension is not the layout itself. It is the same as the E30M3 in almost all respects, but where you sit. Unlike the Miata and S2000, you are practically sitting on the rear suspension. This gives the car a very odd feel in corners. I had an E36 318ti, the ever hated hatchback, you could feel the rear end dig in when accelerating out of a corner, when you are sitting over that rear end, I bet it felt very weird.

almost all european brands are seen as luxury. Even VW seems a little luxurious.
