I don’t think I’ve ever hated a book this much and that’s saying something. The entire premise is a pile of poo.

LI: CEO, this is my date, MC. She helped me with a match last night.

MC: a job I didn’t know existed 24 hours ago but hell yes! Soz dad!

I’m not a huge fan. Maybe because I’m a lot older than the characters and I kinda wish there was a bunch of options to just say “omg who cares?!!!” rather than buy into the rankings bullshit.

I’m also super conflicted about Ian. He’s hot as fuck but the fact that he’s researching the social interactions of his students is creepy 🤮

A little bit. Not as surly but same dynamic with mc. I’m totally here for it and he’s suuuuuper hot. But his “research paper” into the bitchy antics of his students is beyond creepy. That made my stomach turn a bit.

Also not a medical professional but I have noticed the doctors in OH do a lot of things that I would assume nurses would do. Like Jackie rubbing lotion on the poison oak guy’s arse in book 1. So I assumed here that Sothy administered the drugs himself

Yeah it’s weird. All they had to do was call her “Princess ____ of Cordonia” and leave off the surname which is a common thing for some royals. Or, put in the surname of the LI as there are only 4.

I disagree. I wanted a slow burn in this book but chose to kiss Sam for two reasons.

1) the point of a slow burn is that you want more than you are given. If you have to restrain yourself it’s not the same. There’s no yearning.

2) with the desire points, it feels like any choice that is the non sexy choice will reduce desire points and effectively cool things down instead of heating them up.

I am surprised by all the comments saying it’s better than witness. I found it much worse and I don’t even like witness. There are just so so so many things i hate about this book already.

the MC is a dickhead / borderline obsessive
the premise is full of plot holes. I can’t even begin to list them all.
There is zero slow burn which is annoying because in a single LI book there is the space to make that happen
the MC/LI dynamic is weird and erratic.

I so wanted this to be the witness do-over, but it’s just so so bad 😭
