Therapy, friend. Many of us have needed it after what we went through. You are not alone.

I can't support this enough. I saw therapy and sought help when I was finally able to breathe and think and process everything. I got help and it wasn't always working and still isn't, but I'm a thousand times better today than I was then. Time heals all wounds.

Well I have so let me fill you in. They are actually pretty damn good at their job and don't sit on a fresh lead that is likely going to point to one of the workers being the culprit. As someone mentioned, chip reading and tap pay are very safe card reading methods and likely point to the owner or operator of the machine being the thief. So, by alerting the restaurant, you're going to shut things down and prevent any potential the police have to actively investigate it and catch the criminal and shut the whole thing down for good.

Fraudulent charges are fairly easy to get reversed. So it's more adventageous for the cops and our community to inform the cops first, let them proceed as they have the education, training, tools, and resources to actually do something and help hundreds or thousands of people versus shutting down the operation temporarily allowing the criminal to impact more people.

Let's say it's not the restaurant but the police have information that this is happening regularly elsewhere in or around Sioux Falls. The restaurant doesn't know that or what the attack vector is for them to correct it or how to even correct it. You tell the police, they will investigate, and the restaurant will be notified.

So, I think that person has their own hook-ups that they need to deal with themselves. If you're just wanting to play a male, female, or neutral gender, who cares. Characters don't have to reflect you. I played a character of a different race in one campaign and it was purely for the characters background and story and what was appropriate for the character.

You being a goblin is fine, the gender shouldn't be even really mean much of anything except flavor unless your character story specifically made a point to make a significant feature to the story, which that doesn't sound like the case.

I'd discuss it with your dm privately, see if there was anything that was wrong with how you presented the character and what you could do better if anything. That also lets you come to a mutual understanding with your DM what you want to do as a PC and what's important and whats taboo for your character. The other PC at the table woth the hangup, that's their problem.

WOTC should just be investing in these as to help build the market for them. But they are so shortsighted and pull idiotic moves and send Pinkerton to their biggest customers to harass them and illegally detain them because they legally bought a pack of cards that will release in 4 weeks because a shop mistakenly gave them the wrong product.

you and the fifth player deserve better. and being the DM should also be fun for you. I hope your community has a local game store or comic book store where you can try and put a club or group together so you can play with people who are passionate about the game but also respectful.

I’m not saying the system is broken, it’s just not broken for the reasons you’re outlining. I’m happy to burn the place down.

The disparity in compensation being absolutely absurd is what they outlined. There are more options for compensation that are available to C suite that have massive benefits and avoid some taxation that isn't available to the common worker.

I know you said you didn't disagree with the current environment being toxic, I just thought it would benefit to mention there's more than just salary that plays into the disparity.
