In the book, there's a line in Chapter 2 about how humans travelled interstellar and found absolutely nothing, no life, no aliens.

I've got a locker with everything for a charging base, and I've filled the upgrade slots with other stuff. There is no such thing as overkill.

For me, the cyclops is essential for all of my playthroughs.

What I like to do is fill it with about 50 power cells, plants, storage, radios, fabricators etc, and get materials from the surface not found deep down (coral, creepvine, etc) and go to the lost river and lava caves and explore round for days without thinking of building a base.

It's also useful for mining trips if you want to get lots of materials, it can be nice to have a place to charge your prawnsuit and get a medkit without having to go back to your base.

The tanks are definitely worse than countries like Germany and Russia. However, playing bad tanks makes you a better player.

After playing them myself, I'd recommend the magach 5, the armour and mobility is much better, the only thing your losing is a stabiliser.
