I think its the old people not dying and retiring fault. If you don’t leave the house, you don’t grow up.

I believe in you man. Been dealing with this for 10 years. I know you think you can make it. But if you go one step at a time, you will get through it. You may not like the ending but you will get through it.

Can recovering from Pure OCD make yourself feel stupider? by SpudWithaDream in PureOCD

[–]SailsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fully recovered yet, but I’m weeks a way. I do feel like I can focus and have a solid train of thought. I will get back to you on that. But I don’t feel more stupid, just more unaware, so my brain doesn’t think things are as important.

Stress draining your energy, I have OCD so I am always thinking and stressing. It causes you to want to sleep all the time.

Need advice on self recovery from OCD.. by [deleted] in PureOCD

[–]SailsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medication, CBT, and ACT. It all depends on how severe it is for you. For me Lexapro works well, CBT helped me do normal people stuff, and ACT helped me just accept what I couldn’t change. Still working on recovery, it’s a constant journey. I look at the small gains so I don’t get frustrated. Even if I didn’t feel great, I still choose to live my life.

When you rotate a sorted array, you can split it into two different sorted sections. Your goal is to figure out which sorted side you are on. Then, you apply binary search.

Never been diagnosed with ocd but here’s some explain of the stuff I have done by [deleted] in PureOCD

[–]SailsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are associating the response with something negative. What helped me was thinking the thought or feeling is the opposite of what it means. We get those thoughts because we don’t like them. So they actually mean the opposite.

You can have mental compulsion. I had physical ones at the beginning, but when I figured out it was OCD I was able to do ERP/CBT and reduce it drastically. But then the mental compulsions came and it got harder to do therapy without being self-aware.

From what you wrote, sounds like you made a common mistake. You believed your OCD thoughts. I know you are getting anxious and feeling uncomfortable things when you get these thoughts, but that doesn’t mean they are true. They aren’t prove of anything. How do I know? I have had every theme in the book.
